I've noticed some of you mention formulas you use for calorie intake from fat, carbs, and protein. Am I missing the super obvious thread that details how to do this? if not, I'm an ectomorph I guess..and I need to take in ~2500 cals to maintain and 3000 to bulk. I'm bulking and training for mass mainly right now but within a month I'll be adding in more cardio and strength training. I have a very high metabolism and yea..guess thats it..could anyone reccomend a formula for me based on that info? I need to get my diet nailed down. :bang: Thanks

I wouldn't call 3000 calories on bulk a fast metabolism, unless you're super-light. In any case, just try to get 40% of your calories from protein, 35% from carbs, and 25% from fats. It doesn't have to be exactly that, but it tends to work well for most.

the 2500/3000 is according to my body type on the 'what a body builder eats' sticky..I havent had much time to find my balance and see really what i need but i think with the info you gave me i can get started. Thanks a lot

Isocaloric (or 33%/33%/33%) will work fine.

assuming that you eat at least 2000 cals, that means you're eating 500g+ protein per day.......

I'll let the others flame you.

2000 calories x .5 (50% cals from protein) = 1000 calories
1000 calories / 4 (cals in a gram of protein) = 250g of protein

At 2000 calories a day he would be eating 250g of protein a day, not too unheard of.

That's what I get for attempting math when I'm drunk.
