I'f you had to choose between only using one supplement what would it be and why? Would it be a creatine, a protein, nitric oxide booster etc.

Testosterone.
This is a frivolous discussion. Different supplements support different goals.

If it were a legal one, it'd be a tough call between Creatine and ETS.

Creatine, because unlike everything else, I couldnt get enough from food. As for testosterone, if you are a crybaby like me and are afraid to take tha real ****, you can increase its natural production by manipulating your diet and training. High protein and caloric intakes, short and explosive workouts, high insulin levels through regulation of blood sugar usually boost test levels.

This is no b.s., I would choose ETS. I believe it has many more benefits than those we advertise.

If ya'll come out with a product that'll help me sleep at night, I will DEFINITELY buy it. Sorry this is very off-topic but I'm sitting here at 2 AM on the forums because I can't get to sleep. I just lay there FOREVER and after hours of torture I finally doze off, only to be woken up several hours later!
grrrrrrrrr

Yep, I'm with Vido.
If you're having that much trouble sleeping, it may be in your best intrests to talk to your doc.

Yep I have. I tried Ambien and another one I can't remember, but the ambien makes me extremely groggy the next day and it's not good for you to take it for extended periods of time.
The other one just didn't help me sleep at all. Wish I could remember the name of it.
Are you just a person that only needs a few hours of sleep a night?
Do you feel tired when you go to bed?

I think I need about 7 hours to wake up on my own and feel refreshed.
I usually don't feel very tired when I go to bed actually. I just try to get in bed in time to have 7-8 hours before I have to wake up. If I don't have to wake up, I can stay up later and eventually get tired, sleep well for about 7 hours, then wake up on my own.
The problem (I think) is forcing myself to sleep before I'm tired enough. (I can go a LONG time on 1 night's sleep, it just takes a lot for me to get mentally tired)
Also I work out 5 times a week, and do jujitsu 4 nights a week (1.5 hours each night). Other than that, I'm either in class or hanging out with friends.
Even when I'm physically exhausted, I'm not mentally tired at all.

There are a lot of drugs out there, prescription and otherwise that can help you with sleep if you need them. Most of them vary slightly with regard to their mechanism of action, enough that you would actually have to try them out for a period of time to see which one works best for you. Side effects like a pronounced "hangover" can be avoided by switching to a different drug. Also you might want to try melatonin, valerian root or a wide variety of other supplements that can help you sleep. Although I will caution you that just because they are over the counter, they are not neccessarily safer for you than prescription drugs.

have you tried working out earlier in the day? If you work late in the afternoon your body may be still tense by bedtime. Also do you do enough cardio? It will help you relax and will bring fatigue. There is also a chance that your problem is mainly psychological. Last year I suffered from insomnia caused by anxiety when I was studying for the university entry exams. I went to the doc and he gave me Tranxene (mild sedative) and Normison (very mild hypnotic). These are excellent drugs,non-addictive, and wont make you feel groggy next morning, but I dont know if they are imported/produced in US and under which names. In any case you ll have to consult your doctor first because they are prescription drugs.

do you have trouble falling asleep because of thoughts racing through your head at night?

Not really. I don't worry about problems or things I have to do the next day. I just lay there and think how I need to fall asleep!

ETS or creatine, but I'm starting to lean towards ETS since creatine hasn't done much for me lately.
