I'm havent been making gains in my lifts, but i have gotten more muscle as well as gained weight, buti want the lifts to go up, is creatine a good idea? Can you also explain what it is, all i know is that it gives energy, and adds water to your muscles or something.

I would strongly stay away from it at your age, not only becuase you organs may not be fully developed yet, but also becuase we don't know much about the long term effects of creatine! What we do know however is that creatine does put added stress on the kidneys if water intake is not increased. Will this effect us in the long run? we don't know yet.
From my personal use of creatine, I found that it didn't help me really at all. Not nearly enough to counteract the possible negative side affects it has. But, the main reason I stopped taking creatine was becuase I didn't feel I was responsible enough to take it. In the beginning I would drink 1+ gallons of water a day to help my kidneys out, but over time I stopped doing this. And I just felt if I wasn't responsible to take care of my kidneys (water intake), then I shouldn't take the stuff.

Im 16 and planning on taking it. I'd read up on it first if I were you. It can make you gain a lot of weight and not necesarilly muscle if you dont use it the right way. I've heard good and bad things about it. Lemme know how it works out for ya if you do take it.

Maybe I'm on crack here, but I can't see why a daily low-dose would be a problem. I mean, it's in beef.
I DON'T suggest loading with it, but I don't suggest loading for ANYONE - I got a kidney stone from loading, and I understand it's considerably worse for anyone with a penis.
Yes, think about that.
Try a teaspoon a day (5g) and see how that feels.
Lots of extra water.

creatine is fine for someone your age. I would reccomend CEE or krealkalyn to minimize any side effects from creatinine. Though even those are just bloating and greater required water intake

Personally I don't think that creatine is all that it's cracked up to be, but that's my personal opinion. I stick to the basics. You know the obvious of protein intake to carbs, but I'd definitely supplement L-glutamine. That's one of the best things that you can take for muscle recovery, all creatine seemed to do for me is hold a little more water, some strength increase but not anything to brag about. If you do decide to take creatine though, like others said drink plenty of water and look into some cranberry extract to help keep healthy kidneys.

Creatine is good. It's not magical and it won't add 50 pounds to your bench in 2 weeks. Read the creatine sticky at the top of the supplements forum, that'll give you info about what creatine actually does.

First of all you need more water. Secondly you want to try to stay AWAY from anything very acidic like orange juice while taking creatine.

What is the science behind the acidic drinks? I've always heard it, but never found out any details. I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just curious.

To me it seams that those who eat less beef and meat product would benefit slightly more from creatine. I am 16, and while I don't feel I'm responsible enough to get enough water, I will take small doses, 1 to 2g's every other day.
