how about the legs

10-31-2004, 10:18 PM
i have never worked legs before..
IMO.. i feel like there is no need.. and i dont like the look of gettin ur legs all cut up.. hehe

10-31-2004, 10:21 PM
the upper body looks good
you should consider working out your legs, they are part of your body.

10-31-2004, 10:24 PM
yea i just may..
increase my strength to play basketball

10-31-2004, 10:48 PM
you really bench 265...thats really good, that would be fun to watch...keep training hard... keep bulking

10-31-2004, 10:50 PM
on a good day with lots of rest and food i bet i could push 270

10-31-2004, 10:59 PM
Good job on the weightloss. Your upper body looks good for your size. However, not to sound arrogant or condescending, but not training your legs is just flat out ignorant.

10-31-2004, 11:04 PM
ok ok i'll fit it in within this week :)

10-31-2004, 11:19 PM
"Squeezing it in" one weekend isn't going to do anything but make you regret the soreness with no results. Consistently train your legs- a fullbody shot is so, so much more impressive than the standard front double bi, back double bi and side chest.

10-31-2004, 11:58 PM
i kno i kno thats wut i meant.. squeezing it in to my workouts starting this week

11-01-2004, 03:54 AM
great progress abwowang, about where I came from in terms of fat loss and where I am at now in my training.. like the others said train your legs, you'd besurprised how much it will help with your upper body as well.

I basically agree w/ everyone else - upper body looks good, and start training your legs.

Hmm... Very nice!! I think after I cut I'll be close to your upper body!! :D

01-29-2005, 12:14 AM
looking good..keep on adding the mass..work your legs

01-29-2005, 02:00 PM
Wow @ your tiny waist. I would love to have a waist like that, it really brings out the masculine T shape.

01-29-2005, 03:08 PM

You're looking great! You'd be suprised at how well your whole body responds to the leg training, so get crackin' on the wheels. ;)

You look cut. Good work.

Working your legs will help big time with basketball. Make sure you are doing some Squats and Deads - getting those hips stronger is what helps your vert. Good luck

upper body is looking solid and cut. train your legs hard. they will not get the "cut up" look u fear overnight. but they will get thick and strong. that is what u want. nothing looks dumber than a big upper body with pu$$y legs. but good work on the upper body.

how big are those guns?

ericg is right- I know a guy who never played any athletic sports in his life but is sporting a vert. jump that's past 30" because of leg training.

pics look alright

your lats seem to be lagging behind fairly impressive arms/delts/pecs for your size/build

time to start some heavy rows, along with that leg work you've been skipping

02-03-2005, 03:34 PM
yea i been doin squats now
its tough i gotta tell ya.. cant even walk right afterwards

02-10-2005, 04:42 PM
you'll be surprised at how much you were missing once you really get into squats. i never used to train legs. then i was convinced to train them, so i did leg curls/extensions, and wasn't impressed. now that i do squats/dl's/gm's, i can't wait until legs day. once you get into it you'll understand

04-30-2005, 08:24 PM
Im into doing legs and I hate doing themm...what exactly am I missing?

Anyway, you are big for an asian (I mean big in general but I havent seen many jacked asians ... in the general population that is, im well aware of bruce lee etc.), congrats. You look great but need to work on the pecs a little I think. GJ THO!

05-01-2005, 11:09 AM
yea i been workin legs a lot now.. i've changed in those pics a lot.. or at least i'd like to think that..
ppl been tellin me that i got bigger and been fillin up a lil more.. so yea.. hopefully pics soon

09-18-2005, 01:10 AM
great to hear you considered squats

curious on how your looking now after its been 4 months?

judging from your pics on first post, great upperbody and like someone said, need work on back (deadlifts!)

09-18-2005, 01:34 AM
Hey, abwowang
nice progress!

i was wondering if you have any pic of you when you were 215?
I'm trying to find something that motivates my friend who is overweight and try to lose fat..
He seems to be convinced that whatever he does, he cant lose fat. hehe

09-18-2005, 01:56 AM
rookies, tell your friend he needs to diet and lift heavy.

It's the only thing that ever worked for me.

Abwowang, you look really good. I'll be interested to see how the leggies are responding.

Too many rookies, not enough pros!
Too many #!@@45, not enough hos!

Nice progress man, keep up the good work!

Well, I still have a WHOLE LOT of work to do--and my after picture is a couple of months old--but here's me at 215 and again at 173 just over 5 months later.

Again, I'm posting these pics not because I'm particularly proud of how I look right now (trust me, y'all will know when I'm where I wanna be because you'll hear the shouting from all the way down here in Raleigh) but because it just goes to show that normal people can lost weight through diet and lifting.

10-05-2005, 10:24 PM
wow you don't even look like the same guy
