Any estimates, if I were to diet properly, how long would it take for me to get down to 5-6% bodyfat?

Please don't tell me that I need to start bulking--I know I need to gain muscle, but would like to start a clean bulk once I'm lean, since the strategy seems to have worked well for AKA23 and Antek.

I appreciate your feedback.

it all depends, you look pretty lean as it is... what is your weight/bodyfat at right now?

you look lean already, think you could use a little more muscle before getting shredded.

You're already lean, it shouldn't take long at all. 5-6 weeks.

Ball park 4-7 weeks. All depends on genetics and diet.

Thanks for the replies.

Chris, I've tried the bulking route before, but every time I try and lose the fat I gain, the muscle comes right off with it, and I'm back to where I started, kind of like right now.

I've been reading AKA's journal, and he has had outstanding results starting very lean and slowly gaining muscle. Also, Antek sometimes posts here, and he also got ripped but skinny first, and then tried to gain muscle.

Here's how I figure it: I'm 170 lbs, if I'm 10% bodyfat I've got to lose 8.5 lbs of fat to cut my bodyfat in half. Figure in some water and muscle loss, and I'm figuring 10-12 lbs total. To do it in 5 weeks would be losing 2 lbs/week, which seems agressive to me. Maybe 8 weeks?

Good calculations.

I'm trying to get to 10% right now. I'm at 183lbs... guessing maybe 15% BF.... so if I lose about 11 more lbs... mostly fat.. I should be about 172bs.... 10% bf.

I've been aiming for 1lb/week loss to minimize muscle loss, though the progress has become a little stagnent, so may need to cut some more calories.

If you are refering to AKomisakoma, i wouldnt follow in his footsteps. You should go straight to a bulk, forget cutting at ur size.

I was referring to AKA23

My original question was how long I would need to get ripped, not whether I should be bulking or cutting.

Chris, what kind of nutrition plan/training program are you using?
