In use them for heavy work too. I train alone and at home, so using a shirt is out of the question. This helps me load the top end really well.

btw: I use ghetto bands which stretch only a bit. Inverted, they provide 40 kg of support at chest level, they go slack halfway up and the rest is all me. So comparable to a shirt.

I use them for reverse-band work like phreak said and some occasional heavy band training, but that's really hard on the body.

I use them for triceps board days and me bench days. I use heavy tension, and my bench has never gained so fast. THEY WORK check out joeaveragepowerlifting.com I use a shirt also, so i dont know how well they work if your not using one.

if i ever did this id prob have to start out at just the bar lol. i know a guy at my gym that benches 315 for reps and put 135lb on the bar with staps and that almost killed him.. i doubt anyone at the gym now knows how to spot that though.........

If he about got killed with 135 on the bar he must of had some of the real strong bands. They have like 5 different tensions. The more weight you have on the bar the esier it is to controll the bar with the bands on it. You have to get used to them also. If you have some strong bands on and someone lifts off to you, you better be ready or you might eat the bar LOL.
