Guys,

I just started bulking...and I am wondering a couple of things. First, what is the ideal way to get in the simple-carbs post workout? Is a smoothie with fruit and whey powder not good? I read that the fructose isn't as effective. So what would be? High Sugar-Low Fat Muffins?? or could I go and eat a couple of pancakes from IHOP (65g carb) and drink a scoop of whey with water? Would that work just as well post-workout, even though those are pretty crappy carbs? And Also, I had so much success with my first cut, and changing my eating habits, that I'm finding it hard to get in enough calories. I am 6'2" now 165lbs with BF around 10-11%, so I am thinking maybe 2800 calories a day for the bulk? What do you guys think? Thanks for the help.

for post workout carbs try something like gatorade or cranberry juice. If you got some $$ to buy dextrose that makes things simpler. If not, a smoothie with fruit isn't too bad, depending on which fruits you put in. Also, 2800 calories seems good for bulking......if you're a 12 year old girl! You're 6'2, you should be getting anywhere between 3-4,000 cals a day if you wanna put on some weight. Especially if you're an ectomorph, which it sounds like you are considering youre only 165lbs.

Yeah you need alot more calories than than 2800. Try at least 4000 or even more. Just have a protein shake or one of those mass builder shakes straight after a workout. Make sure you get your protein intake per day and basically eat everything in sight to bulk!

Maybe take a sandwich, bagel or something to eat after your workout as well as your shake.

25 x 165 = 4125

Eat that many calories.

Maybe, maybe not. Same that goes for the guy that posted 4125 or whatever. The only thing that is certain is that 2800 is too low and he needs to track what he's eating for a few weeks to get an exact idea of the cals he needs.

i once my self was 165lbs (bout 1.5yrs ago). i put on 40lbs in about 8months and my strength went through the roof. i took in about 4,000cals a day. Ate ALOT and took Weider MEGA MASS 4000 2 times a day. Packs on some serious mass. I grew ALLLL over. You can see my current pics, i wasnt as big when i got 40lbs cause im bigger now but not that far off. Fat realitivly stayed low. 4000+ bud!
