Just curious, how much oatmeal do you eat at a time? The serving is 1/2 cup dry, but I usually have 3/4 cup dry (before cooking).

Is this too much? I also usually add yogurt, whey and have a few egg whites, giving me about 420 calories, 40g protein and 50g carbs or so.

^ As recommended, start eating the whole egg. You're trying to gain weight.

How do you guys eat your oatmeal anyway? Just plain cooked or what do you put in it? I find it wayyy too gross without some brown sugar and cinnimon.

adding vanilla or chocolate whey and plain yogurt is really good.

I try to add as little water as possible. Ex. 1 cup of oata, .98 cups of water or less. I think the water takes the taste out of the oats. I only use enough so it doesn't stick to the pan and is digestible.

I let my dry oats sit in the fridge with a cup of skim milk, then add a touch of honey, cinamon, and flaxsead meal. Damn its good....

Am I the only one who adds a scoop of whey to oatmeal? What I do is cook it with a little less water than recommended, then when its done cooking I pour in a scoop of whey that I've mixed with a little extra water. Delicious.

Did someone say oatmeal?

Damn, do I ever love the stuff. I eat it everyday for breakfast, along with some berries and egg whites. Never get tired of the stuff.

That's over 1000 cals just from oats in your breakfast. What does the rest of your diet look like?

I cook mine with milk.

1/2 cup oats, 3/4 cups 2% milk, with 5 whole eggs.

Such a nice guy you are, Vido :D Always concerned about everyone's well being. Well, I typically eat three meals with 1000 calories each and then two or three snacks. The bulk of my diet is whole grains, then meat, then fruits and veggies. I eat lots of oatmeal, brown rice, wheat bread, and meat. Sometimes I eat crap too. :D

EDIT: The three cups of oatmeal I mentioned is not ordinary for me, lol. I usually eat 1-2. Bulkmania. Hey that's a cool word. Bulkamania. lol.

So, if your going to use oatmeal, milk, and whey. Do I cook the oatmeal, then add the whey and stir or add the whey and then cook???

I agree. I've found doing it the other way can lead to a really gluey bowl of gruel

how much weight are you gaining a weeek then?

Only about a pound per week. I have a high metabolism. I never realized how skinny I was until I started gaining weight.
