This is an experimental journal concentrating around my neck. I will focus on 3 new exercises to maybe getting a bigger neck within a couple of months. THis is purely for hockey and myself. This thread will concentrate on my neck and loss or gain of size.

I'll get some stats up, after i get my hands on a tape measure. :(

Will be starting this routine on monday.

Weighted
Neck Flexion 8-12
Neck Lateral Flexion 8-12
Neck Extension 8-12

Seated DB Shrugs 2x6-12

You ever watch a hockey game? There's constant whiplash potential.

nah, i'm just going to report my progress on my neck. I'll be doing my normal routine plus this one. Playing hockey, i think neck is very important, a lot of player get whip lash and so on. Especially when get hit from behind. I blieave having a stronger neck will help, prevent injury.

I agree, you see way too many hockey players leaving games with neck injuries. I think a thick neck will most definately help.

well, i had ****ty sleep 5 hours.
I'll probably have a ****ty sleep today again.
I have a big essay on Orgin of Aids using Thomas Kuhn's theory of Scientific Revolution. Fun stuff...


7 minute warm up,on a bike
5 minute stretching.

Weighted
Neck Flexion 12x5lb, 10x5lb (these got a bit tough near the end)
Extension 12x5lb, 12x5lb (i think i can do 10 pounds with extensions)

Seated DB Shrugs 2x40lb (i'm taking it a bit easy on shrugs)

OVerall a good workout

Continued with my normal routine.

its been about 3 hours sense the workout, and i'm starting to feel some tightness/soreness around my neck.

I got 6 hours of sleep, which surprised me because i went to bed at 5 am.
I had to skip breakfast.
I'm in the middle of my branch.

I feel a bit of soreness in the neck, but nothing dramastic.
I'm looking forward to ohaving a day off, i'm wiped. Although i cant wait to get back into the gym tomarrow. My friends are going out thursday friday and proabably saturday. I'm not sure if i have enough money to go out with them :( I'm taking a girl out this friday, and only have 30 bucks left over. I'm very disapointed.

Not the best sleep, but it did the trick, i think a bit a sick. Kept caughing last night for a while.

I didnt bother with cardio today, too many girls where in the gym using up the cardio equipment, lol.

Weighted
Neck Flexion 12x5lb (starting to get used to the proper movement)
Extension 12x10lb (I upped by 5lb, and it feels like i'm working my neck a bit better)
Seated DB Shrugs 12x2x40lb

Overall a good and quick workout, just udner 50 minutes.

Extension 12x10lb , starting to ge a bit easier
Neck Flexion 12x5lb, gettign a bit easier but still a challange.

Seated DB Shrugs 12x2x70lb decided to up the poundate from 40lb to 70lb,

Interesting, I'll try to follow this journal a bit since I am also interested in a thick neck.

I'll try to do my own neck workout after I get back from the gym myself, and post that so we can compare our neck workouts.




I agree, you see way too many hockey players leaving games with neck injuries. I think a thick neck will most definately help.

I pulled my groin last week, i've been off lifting for about a week and a couple of days. I'm very upset, i dont think my groin is going to heal nicely. As of monday i'll be going back into the gym with measurments of my neck and progress, my internet has been crappy as well.

Same old, good rest. I'm going to the gym twice now. Which allows me to be more intense.

Sorry i still have no measurments. I keep forgetting to go see my fashion friend. She's can do all the proper measurements for me. I've just been a bit lazy and forgetfull.

Weighted
Extension 14x10lb , easy.
Neck Flexion 15x5lb, doing 12 easily, will up the weigh next time in the gym.
Seated DB Shrugs 14x2x70lb, easy also :)

Rest of the workout was awesome, nothing beats coming back into the gym after an injury. I actually did a bit better. I think time off helped me with my strenght.

My diet is a bit rocky this week, i skiped a meal or two. Thats the only part that i'm not happy about.

Had an exam today, but it was pretty easy. Good quality sleep.

Weighted (i added an extra set per exercise i think this will work out well)

Extension 12x10lb, 11x10 , Easy, i can feel my neck muscle working well.
Neck Flexion 10x10lb, 9x10 This one was a bit tough.

I'm a bit iffy if i should cut out trap work or not, i have cleans and lunges wich also work the traps, so i think thats enough work for the traps.

I have an exam, i hope i'll have a deent sleep. I'm not a fan of history, and dates. Oh well, i'll just get it over with.
