View Full Version : Enough calories?

I'm 135 pounds, trying to get stronger and bigger, but not really a humungous "bulk." I'd like to eventually get to 145-150, but I'm not in any rush.

I've read a lot of places that 15 calories per pound of bodyweight is what you need to build muscle, so this comes out to be around 2025 calories for me.

This doesn't seem like that much....is it enough to build muscle?

15 is pretty weak. I'd say at least 20, if not 25, but try for yourself and adjust accordingly.

Everyone's different depending on age, activity levels, current muscle mass, ect. Maybe you should find your maintenance level and then add 300 cals a day.
