well here's some contest pics. instead of actually posting them, i'll post the link to the site where i have them hosted. you can see all of them that way instead of just a few. i'm the guy on the far left in all the pics. maroon trunks. instead of telling you my placing, i'll wait for you guys to tell me. i know the pics are never the best judge, but do your best. this was my 3rd show of the year, and incidentally my 3rd show ever. my first NGA show. started with 2 NPCs---the mountaineer and the elite. so that link right there is the one for the pics. if you want me to physically post the pics, i can do it later.

I think if you worked on your posing you would do better. That guy in the middle clearly had an advantage in that area. That guy on the right...was he high?

I'm no good at judging comps, but you look great regardless. Props on all the hard work I'm sure you had to endure to get there.

well...hard to say "guy on right" or "guy in middle" b/c it depends on what pic you're looking at. but i go with the guy with the number on the wrong hip versus the asian guy. but...the asian guy came in third, and the guy with the number on the wrong side came in first and also won the overall.

oh...and assuming you're talking about the asian guY (not mexican guy)...he barely speaks any english. has only done a few shows, so i'm betting you're thinking of someone else.

yup i guess ur right...teh guy i knwo hes mexican hes done one competetion and came in second...he was telling me that he was entering one soon in novemeber so ididnt know if that was the one he was talkin about ...how long do u cut and bulk?

how long do i cut and bulk? well...my precontest this year was 20 weeks. 12 from the first show, then 6, then 2...did 3 shows. bulking is everything aside from that. i take a bit of a break from a specific diet but still eat mostly right. i've had a little junk food the last few days and it feels like poison. but i weighed in at 188 for this show. next fall i watn to do another show at just a little leaner, yet weighing 205 (onstage, not necessarily weigh-ins unless weighins are in the morning). and the following year, same thing, only 220.

your first bulk? as in this is the first time you have consciously set aside to gain muscle mass? and what do you mean how far you should go? it really isn't necessarily about a system of cutting and bulking. it's more about smart bulking and cutting if you're going to do a show.

well wut i mean is yes this is the first time i am actually trying to gain mass i did in the past but not dilibertly..i know there is clean bulkin..and taht is what i am doing so far i am at 172 now and b4 when i ended my cut i was 161 its been since sept.

i can see the max weinberg thing going for sure.

so you're trying to bulk clean, right? maybe shed a little bodyfat in the process, or at least maintain? do you have a good plan of attack? what have you been doing so far? that's good progress, esp in the cutting phase

thankz well yea im tryin to bulk clean meaning sticking to low gycymic carbs like brown rice wheat bread etc..b4 my cut my diet was horrible it was basically 50 carbs 30 protein and 20 fat so i increased my protein and changed it to 50 protein 30 carbs and 20 fat...and increased the times i ate from 3 to 5 my power actually increaesed during my cut and i think my muscle mass as well..i was doing working out 6 days a week with maybe one day cardio per week...i was doing 3 sets of 6 with heavy weights...i split my works outs like this : mon chest tues shoulders wed biceps thurs back/lats/traps fri legs sat triceps abs cardio sun rest i switeched the days around a bit....in sept i reached 161 the best ive been but i could not cut any more no matter how hard i tried...so i decied i wanted to build more msulce and then cut agiain now that i know how to cut...so i met this bodybuilder guy at my gym and he was explaining me how i needed to eat more cause durning my cut i had dropped from 2800 cal to around 1500 calories ...he also tolld me that i shoudl do sets like this 12 reps 10 reps 8reps 6reps for each exercise...at first my strenth decreased when is started this but i guess cause i was doing more reps than b4..so far its been good my caloiries are around 1900-2000 wiht a split of 40 carb 40 protein and 20 fat.. is this good? any recommendations? and i only eat food no supplemtnes...maybe once in a while if i have no choice

yea man im not just gonna boost my calories up 1000 lol i dont think tahst a wise way of bulkin cuase its gonna end up fat plus my strength will not increase so fast to accomodate that sudden increase in calories

diet looks good. everybody is different, so the old mantra is to find what works for you. as a general rule of thumb you're doing good sticking to low-glycemic. when bulking those foods are all ok. if you're cutting i would eliminate the bread (even wheat bread). a little more leeway in a bulk. keep me updated on how things go

that's a trick question. i've been working out since 9th grade, but was for football. always knew bodybuilding was around the corner. but the tricky part is that i started back over at zero about a year before i started precontest. that's the whole getting sick part. was literally at zero. very little muscle mass and no strength (couldn't even stand on my own). so i'm not sure how to answer that...in one sense you could say 9 years or so, but in another sense it was really less than a year.

oh yea i was reading ur thread about the surgury u had...man to go from how u were to how u are now very impressive man too lots of dedication to do that..so im guessing a year then in a sense from bulk to contest shape

well if it helps, i still feel like an old woman sometimes. lol. but i'm thinking i might have to cut out bench. the bar comes down on the staples in my chest and hurts like a mofo.

that depends on your diet and metabolism. some people, no. some people, yes. i would say don't do it at all at first, or maybe once or twice a week. you can start by tweaking your diet to stay relatively lean. once you notice the fat coming on, you can tweak it a bit more or add in some extra cardio. but to start, i'm not a big fan of cardio in bulking season. but again, that depends on the individual.

yea i think 1-2 times cardio a week is fine (15minute HITT sessions) yo pentacent wuts another good bodybuilidng forum website?
