A conventional 405 at 165. Hardest deads: 315x10 No gear, eco ball to dry hands.

Never tried sumo. I wonder what that would be. I hate that it's considered the same lift.

425@175, but with straps.

Hey Chris and Adam, how big is the jump from 440 to 500+ is it a steep curve?

Adam
12-12-2004, 12:08 PM
mine took me a while. 440 was done for me in aug 2001, 513 was in may 2003.
I actually lost a couple lbs in that time though.

Squat is weak due to knee injuries.

never heard of anyone in my life puuting up stats like that.....but if you say so.........that and training since age 10 is bad....gl when ur older and falling apart

and TX urs is a little more believalbe at age 16, there were a few kids in my hs at 16 repping over 300, and deading repping over 400, but that squat is still a little silly, even with a suit

at age 18 at 190 my last back day i pulled 405x2 on my 5th set

around 180 and my personal best is 635 in high school. though i don't know how valid it is. we used straps, a hex bar, and a spotter which helped to lift more. i'm not nearly as strong anymore. especially since switching to the straight bar.

The_Brick
12-18-2004, 03:16 PM
AdmiralDan. How hard did you train to get to 635 or are u just another magical fairy kid who walks into the gym room and deadlifts 600lbs+ ?

it took some hard work. i started playing football and wrestling my sophmore year of high school. after football season(fall) my junior year, i started lifting 3 days a week using the Bigger Faster Stronger program along with several of my teamates. i did this throughout the rest of my junior year and the last couple weeks of school, we had a max to see how far people had come. i had gotten my bench up to 255, squat 405(may or may not have been paralell we weren't taught how to do them properly until afterwards), dead 635 and clean 205. then i made the mistake of taking the summer off and getting weaker. now i wish i had stuck with it. i can only imagine where i would be now

at age 14 if you really put up lifts like that you must look like a freak walking around your jr. highschool. unless your a freshmen this year. jesus. i wish i had numbers like that.

If the 14 year old's story is true, it's truely incredible.

I way outweigh him and consider my self to have pretty good genetics and after 6 months of lifting deadlifted 365 some time ago.

I thought he was full of it as well, but a quick google search does add some legitimacy to his claims...

your deadlift seems kind of low based on your other stats. Do you have short arms?

no my arms arent short, i got 400lbs two weeks ago, but i got real sick, and im still recoverin. i just thought it wouldnt be right givin a weight that i couldnt do if i were challenged right now. but i'll be back up in couple of weeks

Bruce isn't lying. I know him from another board. He has some great genetics and is one strong ass kid at his bw. I saw the video of him benching 305 raw awhile back. It's just too bad for him that injury had to set in so early.

And if anyone wants to see my 550 pull, I have a video of that and my 475 opener.

The_Brick
12-27-2004, 04:21 AM
I've seen some videos of some of the kids on fortifiediron.com pulling up around 500lbs, sometimes more.

In his defense, I've seen it done. Years ago I worked out a with a friend who was a few years younger than me and he was pulling around 485 at the age of 16 and squating near 400. His little brother just pulled 495 at a meet last year at the age of 15. Both brothers have perfect builds for powerlifting. Not what's normal, but not unheard of.

BruceSwansonJr

yeah im using my titan fury, going for 395@180 next saturday at my meet

i dont get as much support from the shirt nemore (at 345 raw, so 50lbs) since i cant pull the collar down or i wont get weights to touch oh well

Bruce is for real. It's crazy!

I can verify this. Do a Google search. I got into a discussion with another member over this very topic. He assigned some inflated claims to Mr. Swanson, who then came in and set the record straight. The man may only be 14, but could likely go head to head with anyone on this boards.

As for the other 14 year olds, I can't say. But I think it safe to say there is a fair amount of Internet BS'ing on here.

Oh and Bruce, your meet is tomorrow isn't it? Good luck with your lifts!
