View Full Version : cardio before bed - eat after?

I've started jogging at night after I get the kids to bed. I'm wondering what, if any eating I should do after I jog. I don't feel like I need anything (I'm not hungry), but I'm cutting now and want to make sure I don't start losing muscle.

I've been cutting for a couple of months, likely have another six weeks to go. Started at 23.5%BF, now around 17%, would like to get to 13% or lower. I work out with weights at lunch time 4 days per week minimum, but don't have time at lunch for both cardio and weights.

I would have something .... at least a shake or like manveet suggested cottage cheese..

Thanks, I had a feeling I should, I just hate to take in more caleries, since I'm trying to not exceed 1600 per day (having to alcoate a couple of hundred before bed is going to suck)

I would say an apple and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. Normally carbs before bed isn't great, but an apple is a low-GI fruit, and your body needs some carbs after a run to replenish itself.

An apple and 1/2 cup cottage cheese gives you about 160 calories, 14g protein, 25g carbs, give or take.
