I just bought new slacks for work, and I had to add 2". I normally wear a 32, but this time I got a 34". It was mostly due to the growth of my legs and butt (damn squatters ass) because I couldn't find 32's that were comfortable in the seat/thigh areas. I gained about 18 lbs since about the start of October.

Took measurements yesterday after 5 months of a clean slow bulk. 1.5-2 inches on the waist. The growth in chest, shoulders, legs etc balances that out. No worries. Gonna keep on bulking...

Waistline isn't the best indicator, as your abs will get huge too, but it's ok.

I was wondering about that too. How many inches do you think abs add to the total? And I suppose your lower back might even add to it if you wear your pants up high like a "proper" suit-wearing person :)

there are too many things that can effect it... just go by the mirror or use some calipers..

My waist stays within ~1 inch difference, but my legs get tremendous and I have to wear baggy pants.

So is it possible that when I feel my pants getting a little bit tighter it's because I'm gaining muscle in that area, not just that I'm adding more bodyfat? I've been bulking for about 10 days and the notch on my belt that used to fit perfectly is now feeling a little tighter.

well, your glutes might be getting bigger. Plus when your bulking yur muscles might hold more glycogen and water weight and increase in mass.

Also, you can check to see if you feel your abs still when you flex.

on my body its about 1" per 3-5% bf
+16% bf I'm a 35
12-15% bf I'm a 34
8-11 bf I'm a 33
thats pant size...which doesn't necessarily equate to waist size exactly

i have gained about 13 pounds since october. my waist had gone up one belt loop. i have gained fat visably(sp?) around my waist and stomach. but like what was said before, my whole body is getting much bigger also. all of my clothes are tighter. even around my arms. im def. putting on some quality muscle. im going till march 1, so i hope to be up around 220 by march. then its back to cutting.
