good luck man. Am I reading right that you run a 4.3 40? Is that an accurate time, if so , I can't imagine that some US program wouldn't be interested in you.

12-20-2004, 08:39 AM
4.3 in the 40 is insanely fast. That will put most NFL players to shame. Do you do track, too?

12-20-2004, 05:40 PM
4.3 is handtime on Turf, I run track but I run out of speed at about 60 and my stride gets tired. at the combine on the 15th of this month I ran 4.38 all though they put down 4.49 because on person timed 4.65 and one timed 4.38, and it was 4.38 because ia haven't run 4.65 in over a year. anyway I did this on a pulled groin. and I've never timed electronically so I couldn't tell you.

Forgoin my planned Squat/Quad workout. because my groin is feeling weird. not sore or anything just weird.

cool to see you're starting a journal man. looks like our lifts are similar. your squat and dead seem to be heavier though.

good luck, i'll be checking on your journal

That Squat is pretty old, and I now wonder if it was low enough, it was about a year ago, so I'm not sure if it was rock bottom or not. and I had a bad leg injury, so my max squat is probably around 300 right now.

my personal bests are

DB Bench: 100's x 1
BB Bench: 225 x 1 (weak but I never do BB benching)
DB Shoulder Press: 75's x 4-6
Squats: 365 x 1
Deads: 315 x 1

I usually work out with

315-335 on Squats.
85's - 90's on DB Bench
205 on BB Bench (though I never do these)
70's on DB Shoulder Press
225-245 on Deads (but I havent done them lately due to back pain)

12-21-2004, 12:05 PM
Our Squats are the same, I think my deads are heavier a little I think, your DB Bench is a little bit bigger than mine, your DB shoulder press is way bigger I'm only on 60's right now. I was up to 70's but lost it in the season.
I ahven't squatted in a while. I dont' do db bench right now, but I'm probably around 80's... I use 185 on BB Bench. nad 60's on DB Bench...I pyramid my deads so I start 245-5 265-4 285-3 315-2 335-1 but I'm moving that up next time I do them, everything was quite easy.

Good short workout, I feel like I'm getting some of my shoulder strength back, they got real weak during the season. my hip or groin or something is still bothering me..grrrrr.

12-26-2004, 12:55 AM
I've been slacking this whole week haven't felt well, my groind/ hip is bugging me, I just need to rest but I work at 5 am tommorow which is gay and it's 12 now I'm ****ed.

01-06-2005, 10:05 AM
I'm still slacking but my diets alot better, I have tryouts for the Senior Bowl on Saturday, and I'm going to get a doctors appoinment after to get my groin/hip flexor checked out.

good luck w/ur goals..

and may i add, if you CAN'T find a scholarship to an american university with the size you are, and that kind of speed, you must SUCK! :)

seriously though, that's pretty much the proto-type for a DB.

01-13-2005, 06:52 PM
do you run a 4.31 40yd electric or handheld? if electric, that f'in crazy!!!!

02-07-2005, 11:19 PM
Yah I haven't updated this for a ****load of time, and the 4.31 was hand time. The stupid thing is I don't get respect from American universities, for a couple reason.
1) My highschool career was bull****. I played bull**** positions. and bull**** coaching and everything
2) My good tape is form community football.
3) they see I'm from canada, and I'm playing against canadians.
4) I'm not really sure.

But I'm more than happy to play in Canada next year, and maybe I can get a transfer down to the states. Whereever I go I SHOULD be starting next year, and I'm working my ass of now, inbetween the tests and everything. We'll see how things go, I'll try to keep this updated.

I went to UBC the other day on a visit and we tested
I got 225 for 3 reps on power cleans
275x8 on squat
185 x 8 on bench
36.5 inch verticle
10'1" broad jump.

02-08-2005, 07:14 PM
Went to the gym after school
Did legs
Squat 135-8
Stiff legged deadlifts
Squat jumps with dumbles
Then did 10 minutes of cardio
a couple sets of abs
then some shoulders and shrugs.
I'm just winging it right now.

02-08-2005, 07:17 PM
Those are some strong SLDL's you got there

02-12-2005, 05:40 PM
Did training one wednesday back and triceps on thursday, hit up the power day today. I did 225x3 for cleans which is a gym P.R., then I did deadlifts working up to 3 sets of 315 for 5, my grip is really weak and I could pull more if I had straps. but ohwell. I'm going to play flag football tommorow. and then running at night. Yay.

02-17-2005, 08:21 PM
Did some sprint training with our high schol coach today, then went and lifted felt strong.

Chins worked up to +25-4
then I did BB rows and did 175-8 worked up to that
then did one armed db rows 80-6 for 3
triceps did dips +45-6 was my heaviest set
then skull crushers 85-8-3
and over head tricep extension 70 db - 8 for 3 sets.
