View Full Version : Esterfied Creatines?
Just wondering has anyone tried Pinnacle's Esterfied Creatine, or any other brand of esterfied creatine? If so, what were your thoughts, as well as results compared to regular creatine? Any bloat, diarhea, stomach upset with this product? Also did you take it with a sugary drink or just water?
I am looking into trying this product and wanted some feedback from those who have tried this or are currently using it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see any reason to use anything other than regular old creatine.

Creatine monohydrate, anything else is just marketing. Creatine is so cheap that they must reinvent it with useless new names, or added ingredients that are common or pointless, so they can charge uneducated consumers more money.

esterified creatine is not a marketing gimick, at least if you look at the science behind it. On the molecular level, it theoretically absorbs better.
But, would it use esterified creatine? NO. big phat no. It's basically new out on the market, and who knows what sides is has compared to normal monohydrate.

getswole...thats prob because products like sans v12 also have a lot of dextrose/maltodextrin in it to help cause a GI spike which shuttles the creatine into the muscle tissue faster and more efficiently...so instead of overspending for v12 u could just go get dextrose from a local brewing store (dirt cheap) and mix it with creatine monohydrate and bam...u've got your own cell-tech, sans v12 turbo, satur8, etc...for a fraction of the cost...

im just saying that theres ALOT more out there then just monohydrate ..

actually I dont think v12 has any sugars in it. All of those esterified creatines use a non-insulin based transport system.

Actually, yeah it is marketing, because absorption rates aren't all that important. You can take creatine anytime you want, it makes no difference. Your body will become saturated over time, and whether a serving of creatine takes an hour or a day to absorb, over a couple weeks time it will be absolutely insignificant.
As others have said, usually these expensive creatine products with "active transport" is simply added sugar in some form. Is it necessary? No. Is it optimal? Not really? You can take it with grape juice before bed, or in your post workout shake with water and whey, or add carb powder if you want.
Paying a premium for something that is irrelevant is entirely all about marketing. So don't be duped.

such as...
I just have micronized creatine. It absorbs better......
But my reason for taking it is that it mixes WAY better.

some people swear by these new creatines coming out, especially the latest creatine ethyl ester...

An old friend of mines company is selling it, I'll have him send me some and let you know.
Ryuage I'm hearing the same things...I don't know exactly what the ethyl ester is supposed to do but a few people who's opinions I value really like it.

the ethyl esther is supposed to keep the creatine molecule more stable during digestion, therefore, more of it gets absorbed rather than getting converted into creatinine, which is useless and gets excreted.

sodium, d-pinitol, l-arginine, and a couple others that I can't remember off the top of my head. They're all supposed to suport creatine uptake. Creatine ethyl esthers by design are supposed to be absorbed more efficiently anyway, which is why lower dosages of this stuff is standard. This is supposed to be one of the benefits: more efficient absorption requiring lower dosing. Also, the famous "creatine bloat" from retaining water is supposed to be nonexistent with esthers.

v12 uses tricreatine malate w/ a different transport system than sugar, I believe. You're right that buying monohydrate and using your own dextrose will pretty much be cell-tech, but v12 and swole use a different transport system.
From what I have read about CEE, the ester is supposed to help the creatine penetrate the cell membrane easier and more efficiently which in turn leads to more absorbed creatine and less wasted creatine that the body would just just get rid of eventually before ever being used. Although it may cost more for CEE, at the same time you use less of it compared to creatine monohydrate, and "hopefully" more of it actually does get absorbed by the muscle cells.
For now I guess it is still too new to get feedback since most of you have not tried it. I have read some reviews from other sites and it seems promising. The reviews from users all claim that they didn't get the infamous creatine bloat, upset stomach, or increased workload on the kidneys. I don't know about you guys, but when I took creatine mono (I've tried a few different products from plain powders to cell tech and v12) I always had bloat, diarhea, and had to pee all the time. If CEE can produce all the good qualites of creatine without these negatives, I think it migt be worth trying. JMO

Let me know how the trial goes ST. I would be very interested in hearing the feedback. Perhaps you could start a thread documenting your trial with it.

ill probably give cee a try (gonna get one of the guys over here to buy it in bulk and take a 100 grams or so.... muahaha. I don't respond to creatine well (notice no change in recovery, strength, not even water retention)
