When you first benched 300, how much did you weight? I'm shooting for 300 right now but I'm afraid I might need to put on some weight to do it. I've gotten stuck at 225.

did it around 23-24, 180 @ about 8-9% bf
I did 225 when I was about 16 and weighed around 150
if your max bench is 225 pounds. I would set your short term target a little lower. Then when you reach them worry about 300 pounds.

if you are stuck at 225 I wouldnt be worrying about 300... more like 230

i thought he meant his body weight was stuck at 225. because that doesn't make sense to say i need to add weight to get to 300 because i'm stuck at 225.
if you were talking about body weight stuck at 225 then you don't need to add more weight to hit 300 lbs bench. but if you were saying your max is 225 and your worrying about hitting 300 that's ridiculous.

I was 18 180lbs ~18%BF
Aim for lower goals. It took me well over a year to go from 225 to 300

I don't remember 300. I was 19 when I hit 315. Was about 195# at that point. Don't remember 225 either.

Your height, training experience, genetics, CNS, etc. are all going to come into play. You could go from bench pressing 225 to bench pressing 300 without adding weight (theoretically), but it's always much easier to put strength on as you add weight/muscle.
I hit 325 as actually a few months ago after not attempting my max for over a year. I'm around 6'1 and weigh 185. Just turned 19 a few months ago.

I remember it clearly... I had just finished beating larry bird in horse, I had then hopped into my giant pool of blueberry kool-aid to cool off. I was on my way to Jessica Alba's house for our daily sex session and I thought I'd stop off at Gold's Gym and talk to Joe(Weider) for a bit. While I was in there I figured I'd do some quick benching. So I grabbed Arnold and Franko and told em I needed a spot, They quickly came to my aid. I jumped down onto the bench and hit a couple sets from 300-650. Then I said bye to the fellas and continued on my way.
Then my alarm went off... :(
I'm a 225er too. :(:(

That's what happend to me. I stayed the same weight while my strength went way up.

Well 300 isn't exactly a short term goal. It's what I'm going for in the long run. I just wanted to stay at my weight right now, which is 165.

300 was a real blur. I think I was 21 or so, about 190-195lbs.
Now 400, that I remember. That was a happy 23rd birthday present.

I would up your food intake; I've started eating like a pig the past 6 months: I've put on about 5 lbs BW but 30 lbs on my bench/squat; 45 on my DL.
I use the "how well do my pants fit" test as my judge. I would love to use the "stuff myself nonstop" for 5 months, but its tough to do when you have to buy clothes.

The understanding is called "meat, gravy, and some sort of unhealthy 'vegetable'" Oh, and beer and whiskey.
Uppity bastards enjoy thinking that Southerners are stupid, but MixMasterNash, Shane, and myself are at least circumstantial evidence that we can at least read.
Somewhat.
