so the man has great genetics, and he'll keep winning as long as he wants. Do you think he'll hit his 9th and quit while on top and take the record and retire or keep going until he loses?

looking at lance armstrong (i know diff but), he's won the record for tour de france and he doesnt want to race it this summer. of course the people at the race made things difficult and they acted pretty stupid, well, they were french but still. he says he has the record and thats good for him even though he could probably keep winning. You think ronnie will be like that?

I don't think he'll lose the olympia as long as he continues to compete. He doesn't have any other shows that he has to be dialed in for, so he can really maximize his time all year training for the Mr. O, and I think this shows, as he does get bigger every year. I honestly think that he'll nab at least 10 before he's through. If I were in his shoes, I'd maybe even go for 15 or so and make damn sure that no one ever touched my record.

He did mention at last years that he was just getting started...as long as more drugs make it possible, then to them anything is possible. There is a guy that started working out at the gym I do..he has won 11 competitions in all but blew both his knees out due to hardcore steroid use and because of that, weak tendons. I asked him today if he knew or met any of the big timers, and he said he used to see them ALL THE TIME....they were all asses...Spending about 20,000-30,000 on steroids and pain killers...there attitudes sucked, always just *******s. I thought it was pretty interesting.

I think Ronnie will continue winning as long as he wants, as for spending 20,000-30,000
on gas, i Know a few pro's and there more in the range of spending 5,000-7,000 per month on gas

Ronnie is 40 now right? Who was the oldest olympia winner? Is he it?

Let's be honest.. he is CURRENTLY is untouchable... but I don't see him going past 10... even 9 will be hard... that's two to three years of being on top... a human body can only handle so much stress... I think his body will begin to give out as he get's older...

At this point however, the only person that can beat ronnie is ronnie himself...

I would love to see the judges reward the guys that actually have a good looking body, with nice lines and symetrical bodyparts... I actually prefer the smaller guys then all the mass monsters...

Although Rulh and Jay are pretty cool looking... hehe...

Ronnie will explode at one point or another on stage while doing a back double biceps. Resulting in him being DQed from next years olympia and the Sandow will go to Gustavo Badell.

Either than or I'll think he'll go till he hits 44-45

Well the way I see it, nobody beat the old record for 25 years. So if Ronnie goes for his 10th, nobody will beat his record for at least 30, possibly more than thirty years. Sadly enough, he probably won't be alive to see it. Unless he quits while he's ahead, deflates, and starts pitching workout machines on late night infomercials.

Hate to be the one to break the news, but the way you see it isn't the way it is. Arnold's 7 win record was broke in 1991 by Lee Haney.

Time will tell. hes not a spring chicken any more. But some people mature later than other, and no one else has matured like ronnie in regards to bBing.

When i look at some pics of older BBers eg 45 plus like vinve taylor or albert beckles they can still look nearly as good at 45 + years as they did in there prime

Here's the thing- he is forty, right?
He doesn't look that old to me. He also doesn't look like all of a sudden he'll just shrivel up into a withered old man. 15 might be a stretch, but I think he's got 10 easy, and 15 really wouldn't surprise me, especially because I bet Cutler will throw in the towel in frustration before Ronnie decides to retire (if he goes for 15 anyway).

Jay is my favorite bodybuilder by far, unfortunetly, I don't think he will be competing past 2009-2010 He's made enough bank with his property management and bb career that he will probably retire young...

I hope not, but he's talked about retiring while he was still in good shape in one of his videos...

You know Sinep, I thought there was something fishy about what I said.

But I'm leaving it, because I said it.

I still don't think anybody will get 10 in a row for 30 years.

I predict Ronnie's heart will fail while he's still on top.

Here's a totally different question, but along the same lines:

When do bodybuilders (pros, amateurs, recreational etc..) hit their prime? I'm thinking mid to late 20's? Or is it even later?

I ask this question because of Ronnie, who looks like a complete freak at the age of 40 something.

I would say mid to late 30s is the bodybuilding prime for the chemically enhanced.

a lot of the olympians over the last few years. the majority have been in there 30's.

i am not so sure about natural competitions. But I believe in mass monster competition it takes qutie a few years to pack on that much beef. Your not going to peak to your into your 30's.

I can't wait for the day that some1 hit's a most muscular and their head explodes into the judges panel.

I think males hit their strength peak in their late 30s early 40s. If they can stay healthy that long is another issue.

Well since declining testosterone isn't a problem for him, its hard to say when he'll lose.. although i'd be willing to wager a load of cash that he'll die within 10 years of retiring.

Yep, I was gonna say he's going to hit the floor and that will be when he stops. It might not mean death, but counting in multiples of months would be more likely than years in my opinion.

I once read an article that questioned how much stress can someone put on their hearts on a daily basis...

I mean 800 lbs Squat and DL can't be good over the course of 20 years of training...

There seems to be a sharp increase in the amount of pros that are physicly failing... with the latest being Mike Matarazzo... It's getting pretty sad...
