I'm still bulking at the moment, but am beginning to look ahead to the impending cut that I will start at 190lbs. I've been doing a little reading up on carb cycling, and thought I'd ask everybody's opinions. For those that have done it, how'd it go, and what kind of results did ya have?

if you're a cutting vet it might be worth a try

or a re-feeding schedule

otherwise just focus on total cals

energy balance determines weight loss

I noticed better results when doing UD2.0, rather than just merely cutting calories. I retained a lot more muscle.

it has worked pretty well for me the past ~4 months and i'm still doing it... i enjoy it actually. when i was on a steady 1500cal diet i felt bored. with carb cycling, i feel adequately depleted on low carb days and i get the joy of carb loading 2 days a week.

ok I know this thread is like a year old, but that is because I used the search button ;)

dissipate, when you did have low carb days, did you keep daily cals at the same (1500) by adding fats and protein or were those lost cals just not replaced on low carb days?

anyone else with carb cycling experience, I would be interested to hear what you have to say as well, especially built heh

Well, I like it because it's comfortable. Comfort kinda improves compliance, yanno?

you like carb cycling or are you referring directly to my question? lol...sorry a bit confused

so do you in fact up fats and proteins on days with lower carbs?

I up fats. Protein stays the same or gets lowered a bit, depending on the cals I'm allowed.

Editing in an example - me:

LBM = 114 lbs.
Maintenance calories: 2300 per day.
A caloric deficit of 2415 calories per week,
for a loss of of 0.69 pounds per week

Average daily macros:
161g of protein,
83g of fat, and
141g of carbohydrate,
1,955 calories in total.

(4)Lifting/HIIT days:
171g of protein,
68g of fat, and
187g of carbohydrate,
2,047 calories in total.

(3)Rest/SS Cardio days:
148g of protein,
103g of fat, and
79g of carbohydrate,
1,832 calories in total.

My experience of carb cycling comes from UD2.0. I found it an excellent way to build muscle while losing fat. I'd recommend the ebook as a great starting point whether you follow the actual program or not.
