ok, currently i'm 230 and i've been lifting a lot for about 9 months. i'm strong, but not as strong as i want to be, i also have fat on my body, you cant see my abs at all, yes, i have a gut, but i'm not all fat, i do have muscle. now i'm going to start this new power look routine. my question is this. according to the at large nutrition guide on bulking i need to eat 19 calories per lb of body weight, this is 6670 calories per day. that's A LOT of calories and i will blow up like a balloon. what is a good amout of calories to go for? and what percentage? this article says 35/40/25. thanks

one more thing, currently i'm eating 2000-2500 cal a day at 40/40/20

well you do have to eat more then that.... try adding about 200 calories a week until you are gaining at the rate you would like.

that seems about right.
but think about this. You want to bulk you will get fatter as well as bigger, maybe you might cut that gut out and then bulk from there, and the cal requirements will be reasonable.

I am 165 lbs and I take in 3000 and according to that figure im in the ballpark shy by 130 cals.

But anyway, cut first then bulk. Lose the fat then gain teh muscle

i want to bulk now, because if i cut first then bulk, i'll be bulking in the summer. and i want to bulk now and then cut while in the summer

Can you estimate your bf%? I would use your LBM X 25 as your starting weight to bulk at, rather than your total weight.

think i should go with 200g of protein and work the 35/40/25 around that?

do what ryu said. that way you are comfortable with the rate at which you are bulking and not going with some random number that makes you eat too much or too little
