like is it ok to have 4-5 shakes a day? or does it pretty much go threw you to fast? what would benifit the most? or does it even matter? thanks

You should try to get most of your protein from "real" food and make up the needed amount and your post wo protein in shakes

:withstupi......try to get as much protein from whole food as possible and only use shakes when you need some extra protein or you can't eat food or right after a workout etc...but if shakes are the only way you can get some protein...then go for it...

Whey does digest pretty quickly. A casein shake would metabolize much slower, and would be ideal in most cases where you do not want a quicker digesting protein. But, as the others have mentioned, whole food is definately a better option for the majority of your protein through the day. I would not rely solely on shakes for your protein, only when you cannot meet your daily requirements through food, or you do not have access to whole food.
