I'm 14 years old and i've been working on Olympic lifts now for about 2 years. I broke the freshmen record for my weightclass(175) in the snatch and powerclean last year in 8th grade. Now that i'm a freshemen i weigh a bit more and i broke the other freshmen records for the snatch and powerclean in the weightclass i'm in now(185). The first records were 215(clean) and 155(snatch). The records this year were a bit more difficult but i chipped away at umm and now there mine with a clean of 255 and a snatch of 185. So...from all of this i've determined that i would like to start competing in Olympic Weightlifting. If you've seen there is like 16 year old and younger catagory and i was looking at the results for that from our nationals(USA) or something for 15 year old boys. The qualifier for my weightclass and age is 140.kg's So i'm thinking that i can get involved with this quite easily. If that qualifying weight is right. And with 140.kg's being the qualifier that's about 308pounds. (i think). which would already be in my reach with a snatch of 185 and a clean and jerk of 215. I'm obviously not very educated on this though, the whole olympic competing thing. So can someone just give me a site or something or some input on how this stuff works? With competing in Olympic lifting. Sorry if this is long and confusing, but really taht's what i am right now cause none of these sites i've been looking at make very much sense. Thank you and please any input would be helpful.
