Technically, sugar alcohols are carbs, but they don't affect your insulin levels...so could they be considered a way of getting the calories you need without having to eat carbs that could affect your insulin?

that too
people that allways eat clean will notice this especially
I'm a fan of them.... in moderation.
Most people cannot tolerate more then 2-3bars in one sitting with sugar alcohols because its hard on your GI treact(diarehah)

they're often used as a sugar substitute, so you'll see them alot in low carb products out on the market today, they generally have less calories than normal carbs, but tend to give you the runs, so watch out.
Im pretty sure they have slightly more cals per rgam then carbs.
A tiny difference, nothing to care about though.

Adam: http://www.mendosa.com/netcarbs.htm scroll down to the middle of the page, theres a chart that tells you how many calories there are in the different types of sugar alcohols (ranging from 0.5cal-3cal/gram).
OK, i thought they were 4.3cals/gram
