Just went through my macros for today: 2500 cals, 325 g protein. (sources: roast turkey, whey, Lean Pockets Ultra (!--200 cals, 25 g protein, 7 g fiber)

Right now, I'm cutting--I'm 6'4", 231, 14% bf. How much protein is too much, if cals are in the allotted range? Additionally, what are the effects of too much protein?

Now, it's not an issue, but I figure that upon bulking, I could be looking at 400-500g of protein a day.

hmmm the only thing i can think of with too much protein consumption can be liver problems? but i think that was with insane amounts of protein....man ur gettin 325 g. protein at 2500 cals? what else do u eat? but i don't think that much protein consumption is too much of a prob it just puts a load onto your liver and your body prob doesn't use all of it...

"man ur gettin 325 g. protein at 2500 cals? what else do u eat?"

Really, today was a total anomaly. Usually, it's a lot closer to 250g. I got a few 2lb roast turkey breasts from the store, and they are good--I think the breakdown on that is like 900 cals and 120 g, so that just kicked it up. Usually, my mid-day meals are way more balanced.

How much is an "insane" amount of protein?

probably closer to 700-800 g is an "insane" amount....250 g. sounds closer to normal....but don't worry bout 400-500g. protein shouldn't be too much of a problem except intaking that much....i might have to try some of those lean pocket ultras that 200 cal 25g protein 7g fiber looks pretty good to me...

They're hot: pretty cheap, too. On sale, you can get 6 2-packs for $10.
