View Full Version : I can't do it!! Help

Ok , I bought some oatmeal about 2 weeks ago. I usually just mix a scoop in with my protein shake and it goes down nicely. But this morning I made a bowl of it cooked. I put alot of Sugar Free Syrup and some cinnamon in it. I made my protein shake and began eating and drinking my shake. After about the third
bite, I began feeling really sick when i would eat more of the oatmeal, like i wanted to gag and throw up. Now i can hold down some weird ass food, but this **** was killing me, so i quit eating it and finished off my shake.

THanx alot everyone.

not the 'healthyist' but it does the trick for me. Instant oatmeal, maple and brown sugar flavour.

I mix my oatmeal with a banana and some peanut butter... I like it, and I HATE oatmeal..

Eventually, you will learn to like it.

Why punish yourself? You don't HAVE to eat oatmeal.

Oatmeal with some added milk, cinnamon, and sugar. I add enough milk so I can almost drink the oatmeal. Granted, I still chew the oats.

Try the oatmeal pancake. You can't even taste the oatmeal.

Why not just have it as porridge, like we do in Britain. Just heat the oats with milk, and it'll make a thick consistency soup like dish. Add some honey and you're laughing. Or perhaps you need 'porridge' oats for this, I dunno'.

I tried Oatmeal and it was HORRENDOUS. I LOVE my Wheaties and Splenda....

02-09-2005, 06:56 PM
Ok...you are gonna love this - guaranteed.
1 cup of Oatmeal
1 banana (mash it up and mix it with the oatmeal)
Add some sugar and cinnamon
2 spoons of Peanut Butter
Some cottege Cheese (Strawberry, or any other flavor will do)

Mix all the stuff together...you will love it!

I do just the oats, 1.5 cups of rolled oats, 1.5 cups milk, heat in microwave for 1:00, add sugar free syrup and cinnamon. I love it, but maybe its just me.

I put banana and jam with mine...

I eat my oats with water. I can't imagine people having trouble eating them, as they are a neutral taste. Everyone is different obviously though...

I do it kinda like that, but I add some whey and splenda instead of the syrup and cinnamon

Im guessing oatmeal is just porridge oats?
If so I love it but....
Read something in a bodybuilding article about someone mixing egg whites with it and eating etc etc so I thought it would be a good idea to mix em, that stuff was egg smelling porridge I ate 2 mouthfuls and near threw it up again still wretching at the thought...

suck it up! please, I don't even have cheat days. That sugar free syrup would get me puking. You can try rice milk. It has a sweet taste to it. Also put a fruits or sprinkle on some turbinado sugar.

why not just keep taking the oats in your shake? I do the shake with 2 cups of milk, 2 scoops of whey, and a cup or cup and a half of oats..it's filling, and you can drink it or chew it..damn it gasses me up in a few hours though!

Alright well I think I solved my problem with Oatmeal.

I was trying to save a few calories, but its not worth it.
I used milk instead of water and added some SF syrup and cinnamon.
It was a totally different taste and I scarffed it down

Thanx for all the replies

There's nothing wrong with mixing it with water, that's what i use most of the time, although I must admit that it tastes better with millk
