i jsut bought some dextrose from a grocery store, i wanna take some befor and after my workouts with protien, the only thing is how much should i take be for and after and how much protine, im 5'11" 174 trying to bulk trying to take about 3000-3500 cals a day

Before workout- None. Ingest a slow burning carb(oatmeal, rice, pasta, etc). Sugar will spike your insulin levels eventually leading to a plummit in energy during your workout, which is bad. If your bulking, eat about 1.5cups of oatmeal pre workout, w/ some whey.

After workout- I believe Lyle M.(not sure, so don't kill me if I'm wrong) said to ingest 5g of carbs per half of the total sets you did. I.e. if you did 40 sets in a workout, get 100g of dextrose (40/2=20X5=100).

do you mean dextrose? that seems like a lot of whey

Whoops, yeh, that was a typo. Dextrose, not whey.
