View Full Version : Hip flexor pain

I squated pretty heavy today and did 2 sets of sprints. When I went to walk on the treadmill for my cool down I felt a pain my hip flexor. I can still walk and run, but its sore. Do you think it will pass in a day or two if I rest it? (have any suggetions on how to make the pain go away faster?)

it's really tough to guess if a pain will go away or stay. the clear choice is to rest it. better safe than sorry w/ any injuries. easier said than done i know.

for the pain, i dunno really. i guess painkillers or aspirin, i typically just deal, but never get pains too bad

You are probably either tightening up(you did not use your full ROM during the squat) or you had the weight stretch you past your natural ROM causing a strain.

as adam said post tomorrow and see if its just sore or if you actually strained something either from going too low (past your normal flexibilty) or overtrained..

When i start track season again my hip's and hip flexor's are usually sore for the first week or two.

My hip flexor doesn't hurt at all anymore, it must have been tight.
