Hey whats up everyone? I just joined this forum a few days ago and have already learned a good amount of information. I just have a few questions to ask and hope the people here can help me out. Let me introduce myself, my name's Mehul, I am 19 years old male, will be 20 this April. I am 6'1" tall and weigh 304 lbs (all fat), yes I know I am obese. I used to lift in high school but that was for class. I know there are a bunch of wrestling fans on here and as the late Owen Hart once said, "enough is enough and its time for a change", and a new change it is. I have set my goals so that by the time I graduate from college in 2007, that I will be healthy once again. I just joined the gym recently, and now making myself go back daily. I know diet and nutrician is a key factor as well as along with proper excercise. The WBBR 1 is very helpful. My question is, (I know this has been debated several times) is it worth taking Creatine or a Protein supplement when trying to loose body fat yet gain muscles? If so, which would it be? As for other supplements, should I take a fat burner like Thermogenics, TrimSpa, Xenadrine etc? I want to lose the excess body fat I have and also gain muscle strength too.

get a good diet down first, then worry about supplements. use protein if you can't get enough in from your diet. i, like you, am a college student and living in the dorms only gives me 2 meals a day so i find that i need protien powder to get enough protein. second, there are lots of posts on creatine so do a search(and i'm not too familiar with it myself). lastly, i would hold off on the thermogenic. if you are as fat as you say, a good diet and exercise plan should start you off very well. when you hit a plateau, then add a thermogenic in. until then, stick with a good diet and routine

I agree with Dan... focus on developing a good meal plan first and foremost. Your second step would be to formulate a good weight workout (consult a professional when doing so -- as the order & selection of lifts are important, as well as how they are performed).

To achieve fat loss, you should focus on performing aerobics in 30 min intervals for about 5-6 times a week. Oportune times to do aerobics are in the morning after you wake up (before eating) or 2 hours after a meal.

I highly suggest Francesco Castano's products such as MuscleNOW or Fat Vanish (www.musclenow.com & www.fatloss.com). His main site is www.incredibody.com. No matter which program you choose, it is an extremely wise investment.

I agree w/ everything admiral says, but I would hold off on the intervals. They are great for fat loss, but I think you should walk/slow jog to get in a little better shape before beginning intervals.

:withstupi....at your weight HIIT training could be very bad for joints etc...and probably would not be that beneficial because of your lack of condtitioning anyway...

i don't know what any of that stuff is(i glanced at one of the sites and it looked pretty flashy and ******ed, probably trying to sell you something), but you don't need any supplements or anything. just get down a diet and routine and you should be alright. don't start with as much cardio as he reccommended either. start like andy said. increase your cardio as needed to keep your weight loss around 1lb/week

EDIT: you don't need to spend any extra money on someone's miracle plan. there is more than enough information on this site
