View Full Version : When/How to take you flax oil?

So, whats the best time to take flax oil with breakfast or with dinner or lunch?

Also, this morning I took a table spoon of flax oil straight and immediately ate some warm-hot oatmeal. I kno how sensitive flax oil is to heat. So i prolly did the wrong thing by eating warm oatmeal rite after flax.

From now on I will take flax oil (about 1 tablespoon) as my last thing at dinner with some juice or water. Does this sound ok or should I have flax oil with breakfast?

really shouldn't matter when you take it. taking that straight? you got balls man. why aren't you going with fish oils?

I take cod liver oil caps as well... but i just bought some flax oil. "It has it's benifets like omega 9. Also higher omega-6 per serving usually." -from a post on here somewhere

another question: i'm bout 159lbs, but with around 23%bf. i want to get bigger and leaner by the summer (~3 months)

so my rough schedule (just for an idea) is as follows:
8:00 wake up/breakfast - Oatmeal with whey uncooked
9:00 work
10:00
11:00
12:30 Cardio 25mins running/elliptical
1:00 Lunch -protien shake and (chicken deli meat 2 cups/apples/fruits)
13:00 work
14:00
15:00
16:00
17:00
18:00
19:00 workout for 1-1.5 hr/cardio
20:00 protein shake
21:00 dinner - chicken breast/salad/kidney beans/flax oil

total cal: ~2200: prot/carb/fat - 35/40/25

How shud I change this schedule?

you should be eating every two to three hours. you are hurting your metabolism by eating so infrequently. also i don't know who made that omega nine comment, but don't supplement omega nines, you should be getting plenty from your diet. you're concerned primarily with the 3's, and to a lesser extent 6's.

also cutting isn't really my specialty, but i don't think that ratio is that great. it seems like you have a higher fat component than is typically recommended for bulking (isn't a 45 / 35/ 20 the norm? don't quote me on that, i bulk with a way higher fat percentage because w/o much fat i can't fit the calories i need)

Whenever you want. It is just a source of healthy fats...like asking when is the best time to eat your peanut butter.
