Are there any long term effects of taking whey protein over the years? Like 10+yrs at 2 scoops a day? I'm trying to take as much natural whey and drink lots of water. Are there any long term effects on kidneys etc?
Thanks!!

Easy now... just wondering if there are any studies on this. I hear rumours that there could be long term effects. I guess they are just that, rumours....

Whey is a natural product, when they make cheese the milk separates into curds and whey, the curds they make cheeses out of and the whey get freeze dried. (At least the stuff we buy)
There are lots of rumour about soy protein, steriods and a gazillion other things but consuming a natural milk by product everyday (ie WHEY) is not that much different than asking if eating dairy everyday is bad for you. Now mind you there are groups out there that believe ALL milk products (milk, cheese, whey ect) are bad for you long term, they are nuts.

Same long term effects you get from drinking milk or eating cottage cheese.
