What are the best multivitamins out there?
I used Centrum for a while, but then I finaly realized that most of it goes thru you anyway and its overal crap. Now I take something called "OneSource: Pure Performence".
I just want to know what vitamins you guys take, and which ones are the best?

Yeah but certain vitamins have more of vitamins then others etc.
Also, how much is actualy absorbed by the body anyway?

Vitamins aren't a big deal. Just get a decent multi at a reasonable price (Read: Cheap) and you'll be fine. Chances are if you're bulking and eating a reasonably varied diet you won't be deficient in many things. My advice is just go buy something from Wal-Mart, Costco, or any other large store like that. Their generic brand will be fine.
With regard to how much is actually absorbed it is variable. It's impossible to know. Think of a vitamin as a "just in case" sort of thing. You're taking it in case you're deficient in something. Like I said before, if you're already eating a lot and have a fairly varied diet (fruits/vegetables/meats/dairy/etc.) you'll likely end up excreting a lot of what's in the multi.

I use a generic store brand for centrum. I cut it in half, grind it into powder, and drop it in my protein shake. The generics are just as good as the name brands. If you're male, make sure you take one without iron in it. Vitamin supplements aren't really necessary if you eat a proper diet but taking them sometimes isn't a bad idea.

I like the GNC mens brand, its expensive but has lots of good stuff, and in large quantities.

gnc is the biggest ripoff i cant really think of anything that they sell that cant be found for about half the price somewhere else, for example a 5lb thing of gnc mega whey cost 60 bucks where you can get ON 100% for around 45 and thats a 10 lb bag. dont waste your money with those guys

I use a vitamin called once a day. It's cheap and it's small so it's easy to swallow.

Opti-Men is virtually identical to GNC Mega Men but more reasonably priced.

i took a look at the ingredients in tghe 1 a day brand, but there just wasnt enough of everything. Im 6'4" 280 lbs, the mega mens suits me fine. I wouldnt feel like i was getting enough if i took just 1 of the 1-a-day brand. I only buy the GNC mega mens brand when tey have special deal going on....like 33% and 50% free etc etc..... I dont know what they sell for in other areas, but i got a 4 month supply for like 35 bucks and change. The first time i bought their whey, it was 20 bucks for a 5 lb tub of vanilla. I think you should report whoever owns your GNC to the BBB haha.
edit: i have never bought their whey since, it tastes like crap :bang: ....but you get the point. I like a protein powder carried at a local store here on my island named High5...banan flavor. Good stuff. Mixture of 5 different protein types for a good balance.

Some of those vitamins have unessessary amounts in them, and that's why they are so huge. If you really think you need that much just take 2 of the once a days.

But in doing that, it kind of voids the whole "value" argument doesnt it? Youll go through them twice as fast and buy twice as often. Its really a wash i think.

My point is that you probably don't need the amount of each vitamin you're getting in the expensive brand. What exactly is the benefit of taking 5000 IU of vitamin a over 3500 IU? Is it really worth 30 dollars instead of 15-I highly doubt it's going to make that much of a difference.

I use vitamin shoppe multi. They say it is the same as GNC Mega Men. I don't really know, but it's like half the price, so I buy 'em.
