Guys, I am a high school football coach and was wondering if a westside routine would be beneficial for my players. Since I am just starting westside I have very little personal experience to draw from. Thanks in advance.

I think a slightly altered West Side program is ideal for football players.

It combines explosive power with heavy limit strength.

The failings are in the agility and flexibility work, which you can modify to accomodate.

Search around on this forum, it's come up before.

Look at my article here for WBB. I wrote it using some West Side elements so as to build a powerful football body. If I were to actually train football players on it I might reduce the assistance volume a bit and include more explosive drills (on the field) and other agility/mobility work.
