View Full Version : Cardio Before Or After Breakfast

I am going to start adding about 15 minutes of cardio to my routine every morning. My question is, would it be better to run before or after I eat?

breakfast should be the first thing u do every morning

Alright, thanks thats what I had thought. Also I wanted to find out if it makes any difference that I will be jogging in the morning and lifting at night. Im not sure that this is the most effective way to exercise.

Cardio, if your doing it first thing after waking, should be done with just a little food.

I have an apple and a drink of OJ and water, to kick start the metabolism so the body isn't in "This fats going nowhere" mode.

I'm still eating tons and gaining weight, no starvation mode happening or strength/muscle loss.

i know there are so many conflicting schools of thought on this - but i never had a problem doing cardio first thing in the morning. i had plenty of energy and would have a great run. i agree more with idea of something small and easy to digest before cardio.
