finally got to read the sticky on what to eat....ive been getting deli sliced turkey brest for a while, why is this advised against? the stuff i get is proccessed, but only adds broth, dextrose and some sugars, i believe..
You answered your own question there - processed. Much processed meat is the crappy bits left on the bone after the good stuff has been taken, a lot of it also gets hosed off the abbatoir floor. This then gets cleaned up and mulched into things like chicken nuggets and other processed meats.
Your deli turkey might be higher quality than that but its still processed for maximum shelf life, meat does not need dextrose, sugars and broth. Buy a whole bird, cook it, carve it, put the cuts in the fridge to use during the week. If you're feeling adventurous you can also make soup from the bones
