Green tea has caffeine, so it'll boost your metabolism.

As for amount, I read from another thread on a study that said that 3 cups or so will give you very good benefits. Don't take my word for it though.

at best, im going to drink two cups per day, but more like one on most days

Will it help to lose fat, other than the fact that is jacks up the metabolism to do so?

Yes, it's very helpful for cutting because it speeds up the process a bit. It also put you in a caloric deficit easier.

I think you need a green tea extract in order to recieve the benefits during a cut.

Based on the recent study discussed here (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=61175) you should drink about 4 cups a day. Or take an extract.

Dunno the exact amount, but a typical dosage of EGCG (as far as thermogenesis is concerned) is about 400mg twice or so daily. One cup of grean tea has like 1/10 the amount of EGCG? I have no clue, really, but it's not much. Not to say that drinking grean tea won't give you benefits, just that on a mg to mg basis, the extracts will have a higher concentration of EGCG, which is what you want for fat loss.

Depends how strong you brew it.

When I was cutting I made a large jug of green tea and drank it throughout the day, equated to something like 6 cups. I definitely think it helped with fat loss.

I've developed a taste for it nowadays so drink a few cups a day anyway, there's enough benefits to make me think even small quantities are worthwhile.

Ones infused with mint are well worth checking out, very refreshing.

As discussed quite a bit on the forum. to get any great cut you need like 20 cups a day to have any real effect. or take green tea supplements. I take ~1.5 grams (5 tabs of 315) of the extract a day and am finally feeling the effects.
