Going snowboarding for a few days and I'm wondering how I should eat while on the slopes... It's an all day event with one break for lunch (most likely a chicken sandwich) so bringing a shaker in my jacket isn't really an option because it's too bulky. Should I bring some almonds or protein bars?

I've used protein bars but noticed that they are extremely hard to eat when temperatures are very low. For water I have one of those "camelbak" hydration packs (that I was issued in the military, but you can buy them in a store) and wear under my jacket.

i would also stow a few protein bars in my jacket. even beef jerky is handy to pack. if you get a locker or someplace to put your stuff, throw in an extra sandwich or a piece of fruit.

Protein bars and freezing temperatures don't mix. Ive done it many times before and it takes a lot of dedication to slowly gnaw away at a frozen block of protein :p

I would eat whatever you could and not fret about it. It's just a day.

It's not actually a day, we're going snowboarding for 5 days...

To overcome the frozen protein bar, you could always get one of those hand warmers and keep it next to the bar(s) in your coat. Gotta be resourceful.

As long as you don't break your wrist like I did! That ice is hard when you fall. That ***ed up my workouts for quite a while.

I'd just put beef jerky in some plastic bags and keep that around to snack on.

K...adjust to 5 days and eat what you want, when you can...if you want protein bars, have at it. Have fun.
