dont call it soda.

do you avoid pop completely or indulge once in a while? coke with ice used to be my favorite but 39g of sugar... thats almost as much protein as i try to take in at once. i cant justify it.

im from minnesota. my friend from maine gives me hell when i talk to her... the soda/pop debate will forever be an issue with us, probably is going to end in a no holds barred mma match ;)

diet pop wouldnt be so bad if it didnt so closely resemble rat piss.

11-29-2001, 03:36 PM

just one question for you. how do you know what rat piss tastes like? is this an educated opinion of yours? if so, i think you should try to ween yourself off the rat piss and stick with diet soda, which is better for you i would think than the alternative.

i drink a ton of water at work, before, during and after i workout. i find that when i come home, i like either skim or soy milk, and for the rest of the night i'll drink diet sprite, caffeine free diet coke, fresca or diet raspberry ginger ale, etc.

i also noticed codei, that you were the only one that used the phrase "pop" i think you're a little outnumbered here and need to learn english, not minnesooooota slang :evillaugh :moon:

I'm from Michigan and I call it pop too! I like diet soda occasionally, but I used to drink a ton of it...

Diet soda have aspartame which can cause some side effects. read more here http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/

I hearby declare this "Ancient History Week" on WBB...

...old Yaz threads getting bumped, refighting the "U.S.: Love it or leave it" argument, and now the aspartame warnings...

Now all we need is a good old squat debate: How low to go? Is it bad for your knees? Should you put plates under your heels? Do you have to squat at all?

I visited a college in Michigan a few years ago. Someone asked me where the pop machine was. I had no clue what he was talking about. All I could think of was lolly-pops.
It's SODA or COLA.

I noticed that in the last few months i have been drinking plently of coca cola and the weght has been just piling on.If you have to drink pop then try the diet variety otherwise stick to water, skim milk and your protein drinks.

Why not just call it all a 'coke'. Diet Pepsi = Diet Coke , Dr. Pepper = Coke, A Case of Mountain Dew = Cokes. Simple Southern Solution.

Damn right. Coke is generic down here. Imagine my surprise when I went up north, ordered a coke, and got a coke. They didn't even ask me what kind I wanted.

12-01-2001, 12:46 PM

dl did it break your heart when they didn't give you a free refill or top it off?
