Good or Bad ?
11-29-2001, 04:42 AM
ermmm....i see nothing wrong with protein.
what exactly do you mean babe?
11-29-2001, 05:11 AM
I mean having a meal with Protein and nothing else. No Carbs, no Fats ...... just ....... er ..... Protein. Like a chicken breast for example.
Will my body use too much of this protein for energy ..... Glucosegenesis (sp?)
11-29-2001, 05:56 AM
well probably. You need some fat there to mimimize gluconeogenesis. chicken breast has very little.
also w/ no fiber in there it could make for some painful dumps...lol

but at the same time...you kinda have to look at the whole picture, no?
i mean, eating one meal that is just protein, isn't going to result in 10inch calves. But if your diet doesn't consist of enough fat, or carbs, or whatever you choose your main energy source to be, then yeah..your body is gonna use gluconeogenesis for energy.

I'm talking one meal !!!
11-29-2001, 07:00 AM
your body is a 24-hour machine..one meal is just fine. :)
11-29-2001, 07:03 AM
Well thankyou kindly Miss ;)
11-29-2001, 07:06 AM
why you are eva so welcome, sir....;)

Eat some fat or carbs with protein.
And as doc said, have some fiber too.
11-29-2001, 08:48 AM
I don't think it's bad. Like Tryska said, one meal isn't going to hurt you.

My pre workout meal and my before bed meal is very often just protein with perhaps some Udo's Oil. Nothing wrong with it at all for 1 or 2 meals per day.
11-29-2001, 10:56 AM
Udo's oil? What's that?
11-29-2001, 11:00 AM
Udo's Choice is a flax seed type oil that contains omega's 3,6,9 in good ratios. Its probably the best choice out there when it comes to oils high in EFAs.

Where can I find such an oil?? Local grocery store and/or health store???
11-29-2001, 12:26 PM
You can order it from the net..
Or you can go to GNC,they must have it..
11-29-2001, 01:29 PM
I know my local GNC doesn't carry those types of supplements (they don't have a refridgerator).
But just look up in your phonebook for local health food markets/supplement shops. Call around and you'll find it.
Most big name food markets(kroger, meijer, etc.)don't carry that stuff; at least I haven't found it.

There are several online supp companies that have UDO's. If you go to a health food store, visit the refridgerated section as oils like this must always stay in the fridge. Good stuff!

Thanks for the info!!
as you are probably on 5-7 meals a day. one meal with no fibre, fat, carbs is fine to eat.
