hi, i currently work from home, so i get hardly any exercise, i do 50 sit ups a day, and go to the gym 3 times a week (only doing weights no CV). my question is im 6 foot 3, 238lbs, how many calories should i be having per day to cut down, i have no other time to go to the gym apart from those 3 days.

3 days a week is fine for lifting. Most programs out there are based on 3 or 4 days a week so you're doing perfect.

To cut down you almost have to add cardio (I'd say you HAVE to). Buy a skipping rope and do a half an hour in the morning. It burns tons of calories and is quite easy to do. There's a reason boxers do it to cut for fight weight. My latest ab workouts work cardio and abs together and might be a nice change from situps. Try this... skip rope for 1 minute continuosly, rest for 1 minute, do any ab exercise for 1 minute continuosly, then rest 1 minute, repeat for 30 minutes. This works the abs and burns off the fat hiding them. As you get better at this you can cut the rest periods back by 10 seconds a week. Sounds easy but after the first 15 minutes it sucks!

It's hard to guess how many calories you should be eating to cut, everyone is different. I'd try to get at least 200g of protein and I'd guess between 2000-2400 for you would be cut cals.

AB2004, your about where I was 4 weeks ago, I am too 6'3, 238 (was) now i weigh 226, I started out weighing 245 thats was 2 months ago, anyway, My routine is Cardio for 25 minutes on an eliptical 5 days a week, weekends off, other than that I sit behind a desk all day.

I started drinking whey about 2-1/2 weeks ago, I thought it would hinder my fat lost but it didn't, matter a fact it helped with my hunger pains for somthing sweet.

1 scoop of 100% On's Whey (Vanilla Ice Cream)
3-4 large frozen strawberrys
8 oz of Non Fat Milk
2 packets Splenda
3-4 ice cubes
Blend 20 sec. :drooling:

2-3 times a day

I keep my diet to about 1800 - 2000 Cals daily

for the past 4 weeks i was getting less than 1000 cals per day but then i was never hungry and not losing any weight so i have moved up to having 4 meals per day each between 400-500 cals spread out over the day and it has started making me feel hungry again instead of forcing down food.

That completely depends on how much muscle mass you have and if you're talking about what a doctor would tell you your weight "should be" or what it "should be" as a bodybuilder.

A doctor would probably say something like 180 lbs; I'd say 270 :D.

TOTALLY depends on your bodyfat % and where you want that to be.
