This being my lifting journal...I should talk about my gym sessions and stuff...Well today I plan on maxing out...the date being: Tuesday March 22nd I nailed 225 a few weeks back...and now I am gonna go for 235...a long shot I know but Im going to try...Thats really gonna be my highlight of my day and workout...

well didn't get 235 but gave a good effort...I was told by a great lifter and powerlifting champ for his weight...that I was having problems right off the chest...thus he said to do "Pauses" which is take the bar down to ur chest and pause for 2 seconds and then explode out...I am going to start trying this...I'll keep this updated...

my 4 day workout consists of this:

Day 1 Chest tris:
6 sets of incline bench
6 sets of incline flies

4 sets of overhead push
3 sets of dips
3 sets pushdowns

Leg:
4 sets of squats
3 sets of leg press
3 leg extentions
3 calf raisies

Back Bi:
4 sets of bentover pulls
3 sets of pulldowns (front)
3 sets of pulldowns (rear)


shoulders:
Cable row 3 sets
lateral raise 3 sets
cable crossover 3 sets
shrugs 3 sets

Well...240...I got it up...but I know I did not go down far enough...I went down and there was about 2-3 inches between my chest and the bar...so I am not gonna count it...But I got it soon...Prolly tommorow...

looking really good so far..:spam: what's your (lifting) story? you seem to be lifting a lot for such a young age and based on other posts you've made you seem a lot different in a lot of ways than most 14 year olds I know. Just looking to understand your drive in lifting. Also you should try posting your workouts as you do them and post your progress on individual workouts as well as the times you max out. This is good encouragement for you and helps us out here encourage you too! Good luck with everything...I'll be back :D

Well if you honestly want to know the whole story of why I began to lift so young...I'll sum it up...I started lifting and heavy...I just guess there was more motivation for me to get bigger/stronger/faster than most people because I used to do it to survive...My dad beat me at a young age...so I began to lift...now im 14 years old...and could put my old man through a wall...So I take lifting as serious as I can...because its the only thing thats been with everything with me...Sorry for sounding depressed and stuff...but I love my father for what he did...turned me into a machine...

Chest/tris
Flat bench:
ME Day:5 sets warmup(135 8X,155 5X, 175 3X, 190 2X, 200 1X)
5 sets heavy (Current Max:240 1X, 240 1X, 225 1X, 205 2X, 185 4X)
Incline BB 135 10X, 150 10X 160 8X

Overhead Press 70 15X, 75 10X and 80 8X

Skullcrushers (with no spot on a machine)
160 12X, 175 8X, 190 6X

Dips 3 sets until failure

Ehhh yeah its great now...My girl ,her father and myself are all going up shooting this weekend...Yeah thats right my girl loves guns...I'm in heaven...I'm going up there for the weekend, its gonna be fun!

BACK TO LIFTING:
Today is a max attempt for the bench...I went for 240 twice already failed both times...I've had trouble with the lower half of the motion...Thus I have been doing pauses (set bar on chest for 2 seconds and explode out) I think that with the comination of some type of an enegry drink will give me the edge and I should nail this tonight...Wish me luck bros!

Oh yeah I've been told that many times...Well to tell the truth about 2 months ago my bench was 225 and my dead was like 205...I never went very heavy...Key to deading...Go heavy as hell

Try chalk out, Straps wont help you develop grip. Chalk from what ive heard is amazing and you will never need straps.

OFF TOPIC: I went up to my girls house on Sat. HELL YEAH!!! this is the best birthday I've had in a long time...I am gonna start taking a bag to the gym...with water,chalk,mp3,straps ect. and im going to start recording my lift more closely...

Brought a bag to the gym yesterday...one of the most convinent things you could do...its kick ass...I had a really good back and bi session...really soild feeling afterwards...Oh I also went and got some more protein mix (chocolate) and I got some weightgainer which I've yet to try...Its a small thing so if I like the results I'm going to start purchasing it regularly from ALN

I just got back from Chicago but the dead is doing good and the bench is a little shaky but im goin real serious now...gonna drop to 230 tommorow nail it...then get 235 about a week later and then go for 240 mabye I didnt build my foundation and tried to move up too fast

Todays workout rocked! Oh my god it felt good to go heavy I got 225 out for 2 and on my second set of 225 got it once and real close I just needed a bump but damn it was a great benching session...No it was a great lifting session...I felt real good doin it...Its all about getting rest and alot of food the day Before ur ME...but yeah just thought I'd note that I got alot of sleep and food the day before

Thank you all...and the squat should be coming today expect a big improvement on it today I'm prolly gonna test some waters and go for 200 today just to see...I'm getting serious about all my lifts now...I used to obssess over bench I gotta get rolling on the rest of them now...oh and yeah I'm goin for 315 on dead next time 3pps man DAMN!

Well I went heavy with my squats...well what I would consider heavy and damn...I'm a stronger squatter than I thought...not thta im a good squatter but I got 200 up twice with ease...and so I figured I'd go for 225 nailed thta once with great ease but at this point my legs were fatuiged so I stopped rasing the weight...but damn I feel good I didnt know I had it in me...thanks marine for the motivation to squat heavy for once...And thanks everyone that has been posting in my journal your great support!

Today is yet another Chest/Tri day...YEAH!!!! Damn I love these days...anyway Gonna get some singles in 230 working my chest back up gonna get 235 again next week sometime and then in about 2 weeks or so gonna go for 240 which I have tried and failed on for about 2 months now

Db flys are a good concentric motion for rear delts. Hard muscles to isolate though.

Yesterday was a spectacular chest day...I went for 190 (just moved my first real set up 5 pounds) got that 8 times...So I was pretty satisfyed...Weighing in at 145 I am aiming my bench for the end of the school year to fall somewhere between 245-255...I'll be checking back in a few weeks to see how I have done with achiving my goal...

Chest/tri:

Thanks guys...And as for my incline yes everyone has always said they hated incline benching...personally I love the thing...I dunno its just really comfortable to me so mabye thats why I can rep it out... Idunno...Yeah **** yeah it hurts...but I have used it to fuel my anger/lifts so I think in the end it may help me out...but thanks for the support guys...

Went to lift today and I deciced that I would go heavy on the deads I felt good and stuff...I went for 325 (my previous PR was 315) and I nailed it! I'm pretty hyped about that. I went what I consider to be heavy for my curls today, At my heavyist set I got 100 for 5 not too bad I think. Never really went heavy before on curls so I am satisfyed with myself today but nevertheless Im off to ice my god damned back Hah See ya guys :)

Today was a bicep/back day...So I figure I'd give some details...My back hurts like a MOFO! after that 325 attempt DAMN! anyway I went for some heavy curls once again and I got 100 6 times. I really wanna get 135 for at least 1...I dunno just a dream of mine :)

Oh on a side note...I will be pyrimiding down for benching weight. I seemed to crank those higher weights out much better and for more reps than I usually could do.

I will throw another little tip in here that Marty Gallagher taught me, use straps, but DO NOT wrap your thumbs around the bar---the contraction in the back is incredible and it takes the arms/biceps out of the movement as much as possible. I do 1-2 sets without straps, and then 1-2 with, so this is a "finishing" movement for me.

I am starting a new combo for my workouts its gonna go: Day 1:Chest/Bicep Day 2:Back/Tricep Day 3: Legs/Shoulders Day 4: Rest Repeat I figure that this will let me hit the indivdual muscles harder and more precisely such as benching tiring out my tris as well as my chest thus doing bench and tris on a differnt days my theory should work...*glup* I hope :) I'm gonna run this for about 6 weeks and see How I am doing...

I am thinking about altering up my workouts after this switching all my bench to DB for about 4 weeks...just an idea but I should start writing that workout soon.

O.K I had one of the best workouts in a long ass time...On deadlifts (just realized I've been doing SLDLs eveidentally I had a strong back or something) I thought I was going for 335 But I accually had 345 racked and I nailed it and didn't realize until I was talking with my friend saying **** yeah I finally got that ****...335 damn it was a bitch...He said No dude...You had 345 racked...I thought about it...and I did...I am stoked...Anyway heres the layout:

I've only done it in a squat rack with a Barbell but yeah open space with DBs should work as well...Just lay on the ground and rest your tris on the ground and bench because ull notice you complelty have no momentum and you dont bother with the first 2-3 inches off the chest

Yep, I always get syked out for squats... which I attribute much of to my squatting and deadlifiting just shy of 500lbs in 10th grade. Plus when your football team is screaming their guts out for you it gives your adrenialine.

You will gain weight, creatine makes you hold more water in the your muscles, making them look fuller. You will also see strenght gains.

I was thinking of maybe taking creatine, a buddy of mine started using it last year and it just looked like he blew up with water weight to me, got bad stretch marks too.
