Does anyone here know if it is ok to eat eggs without cooking them. I.E. put them in a blender with other things and drink it. Or could this be unhealthy?

It CAN be unhealthy, but so many people do it anyway.

Like cookie dough? Than you've eaten raw eggs.

A pro BB once told me to drop putting raw eggs into my shakes/mixes but I think its ok if you don't go overboard. 1 to 4 eggs won't hurt in my opinion.

supposedly half the protein in raw/uncooked eggs doesn't get absorbed by the body. Better to cook them.

this quote:
"Just remember that despite how buff Rocky was, raw eggs suck, and we’re not talking about salmonella poisoning (although that risk does still exist to some extent despite improvements made by egg distributors over the last few years). According to a study found by John Berardi, the body can only utilize about half of the protein found in raw egg products. So not only are you risking getting sick, you’re wasting your money. Lesson: Cook your eggs!"

If you examine the eggs you use first for any pinholes then you are fine. Without exposure to the outside salmonella doesn't develop. Or so I've been told by a few different sources.

I still don't believe that your body can only 'use' half the protein in an egg.

Guys Guys Guys ..... cook your eggs. Not only will your body not be able to absorb all the protein raw, but your run the risk of getting salmonella.

I've had it ......... 4 years ago and it put me in hospital. I couldn't eat for a week and lost a grand total of 28 pounds of hard work, over the course of the poisoning . It just isn't worth it.

I've had salmonella also. Lost close to 20lbs in two weeks. Why would you even want to eat raw eggs? They taste like snot. I'd rather have a tastey omlett with peppers, onions mushrooms and fat-free cheese.

screw raw eggs, too much fat anyways, just drink a carton of egg beaters, tons of protein and its "pasteurized for safety". the aftertaste is god afwul, just have a chaser with it.

The body still can't absorb all the protein though right?
