Hi All,

I am new to the fourm.
Just reading about bodybuilding a lot these days.
I read somewhere that Excessive protine intake
damages the kideny.

Is it true?

Ravi. :bang:

Not everyone's first language is English, I think it's obvious what he meant.

Ravi, this question has been asked a lot in the past, you could have found the answer by conducting a search (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/search.php?), but basically it is not an issue unless you have pre-existing kidney problems.

excess will do. Its just what level excess actually is. that is the correct question.
As for that, I am not sure how much is to much. But its proabbly far more protein than you actually need. So do not worry about it.

As far as I can summarize. If you have completely healthy kidneys, excess protein won't cause any problems. If you have even a small problem with your kidneys, excess protein (especially from meat) can accelerate the problems.

If you think you have kidney problems, best bet is to keep on top of it with doctor visits. Bodies are adaptable though, don't underestimate your body's ability to deal with lots of different food sources and amounts (except McDonald's which was proven in "Supersize Me")
