I have searched for answers but I am not getting any other than the fact that I should take these, if any supplements, because they are "the best".
Basically, I want to know why everyone supplements EFAs. What makes them so essential? What makes them "the best"?

http://my.webmd.com/content/pages/3/3079_1820.htm - about EFA's in flax seed oil related to prostate cancer.
hope this helps. I take as much fish oil as I can stomach. There is some reservations about flax seed oil for men. It is another source of EFA's but flax seed/oil has been shown to increase prostate cancer cell growth by something like 200-300%. Not a problem if you don't have prostate cancer, but a problem if you do. Fish oil, a good source of EFAs, does not have this effect.

Thats probably the stupidest reason I have ever heard for not taking Flax oil. Please show me a case study where flax oil worsened the condition of prostate cancer patients. Flax is a miracle food as far as Im concerned.

not to hijack this thread but punk is my buddy and he won't care....i took EFA's for about a month or so...only one capsule in the morning and at night and i seemed to have some major stomach crampage during the day...i.e. diarrhea and overall discomfort...could the EFA's have contributed to this? once i stopped taking them my stomach returned to normal...
