I'm arguing with a friend and he says I cant gain weight sufficiently because I drink too much weight gainer. He says I'm going to see huge gains if I stop drinking the stuff for a month or so then go back on it. Kind of like cycling creatine. I figure its bull****. Wouldn't a body require a constant excess of protien and calories to grow?

Yes, and you're right, it's bullsh!t.

Dr Berardi promotes the cycling of protein powders. It's an interesting theory.

I've read this, but I don't think this was what TOBART's friend was suggesting. It sounded like he was suggesting going "on" and going "off" protein supplementation.

Yanno, 'cause it's like 'roids.

How about trying it and finding out if it works? You're definitley not going to not make gains.

I think it's a ******ed idea. And how would you tell if it worked? All the sudden you make superhuman gains on the same cals/protein you where at before but because you cycled off your body is now shocked into growth. LOFL, eat more, lift more, you will grow. There are no secret tricks, this aint rocket science.
