View Full Version : WHEN to take creatine & EC

Hey all

I was asking a little while ago about taking Creatine and EC for fat loss. So far the results have been good. However, I ran out of creatine...

The creatine I was taking before I was only taking once a day, right after a workout. I bought some new stuff, and its suggests taking it once when you first wake up, and then 12 hours later.

I am currently taking my EC @ 6:30am, 11:30am, 4:15pm.

Sooooo, heres my question...

Which one should I take when I first wake up? What do you think would benefit most and please tell if you have experience with this?

Dunno man, if you're not careful the ephedrine and creatine will react in your stomach and make you explode, like when you feed Alka-Seltzer to a seagull.

I think it`s more like pop-rocks and coke. But I totally hear you. That mixture is dangerous fo' sho.

What exactly is this new stuff?
Those directions are pretty silly to me.
Just take it after your workout.
Maybe before as well.

creatine is creatine.... take it whenever you were taking it before

Yea, thats if my guts don't explode first from your hilarious comments...

I just don't want to be throwing all this stuff I spent money on into my body...and have it not working properly. I was just wondering what would be most effective.

In all your 14000 posts, you've never discussed anything like this.

I've done the reading and I do understand how they work. I've used both and I've seen both work...individually...

I'll just play around with it, its not a big deal

Effect of Creatine Ingestion after Exercise on Muscle Thickness in Males and Females.

Abstract:
Purpose: To determine whether preferential increase of muscle thickness could be achieved by ingesting Cr immediately after exercise of specific muscles over 6 wk. Another purpose was to determine if the increase in lean tissue mass (LTM) with Cr supplementation is greater in males than females.

Methods: Subjects randomly assigned to Cr (six males, five females, 0.2 g Cr[middle dot]kg-1) and placebo (PL; five males, five females) performed single-limb training with one side of the body two times per week and with the opposite limbs two times per week. Cr was consumed after training of one side of the body and PL after training the opposite side. Subjects on PL always consumed PL after exercise. Elbow flexors and knee extensors muscle thickness, LTM, fat, and bone mass, and single-limb bench and leg press one-repetition maximum (1-RM) were assessed before and after 6 wk.

Results: Within the Cr group, elbow flexors muscle thickness increased more in the limbs trained on days Cr was supplemented compared with limbs trained on days PL was supplemented (P < 0.02). All other measures changed to a similar extent between limbs. Males on Cr had the greatest increase in LTM (P < 0.05) with no difference between females on Cr and PL. Bench press 1-RM increased more in Cr than PL groups (P < 0.01). All other measures changed to a similar extent between groups. Males increased bone mass (P < 0.01) with no effect of Cr supplementation.

Conclusion: Supplementing with Cr after training of the arms resulted in greater increase in muscle thickness of the arms. Males have a greater increase in LTM with Cr supplementation than females.

Ive beeing taking EC just alittle bit before postworkout shake with creatine in it for over a yr now....

I seem to be alright.........

So, I'm going to assume you bought the same old creatine, just a different brand. Now you're getting obsessive compulsive because the label says something different than what you've been doing?

It's not like I'm worried I'm gonna blow up! (front page news..."MAN EXPLODES FROM TAKING EC AND CREATINE!) hehe, prolly not

I just wanted to know what results people got when using both together, and what kind of schedule they used.
