View Full Version : Better way to prepare chicken breasts

04-22-2005, 10:42 AM
I always just marinade them for around a half hour or cook them plain on the Foreman grill or bake them in a pan in the oven. Sometimes I cut them before I cook sometimes after. I've just got really tired and all the marinades are tasting the same.

I wondered if there was any other ways I can cook the chicken. I get nauseated sometimes when I eat it for some reason now. I usually eat one or two breasts a day.

I really like Chinese food and Szechuan style chicken but I don't know how to prepare that sort of stuff.

Any ideas?

Those are little tOo expensive for me, plus a little too much sodium. I buy the 4-5 3 packs of breasts from Kroger when they're on sale for like $3.50 a pop (which is like 1/2 price) and then freeze a bunch and cook 3 at a time.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah except they are refrigerated, I just freeze them if I don't plan on eating them that week.

I buy the Kroger bags with 7 pieces when they are on sale for 6.99, normally they are 11.99, time to hit up Costco.. I bake them plain, with a little bit of garlic seasoning.

My fav way.

1-2 breasts
2 eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
assorted spices as per your taste

Take 1-2 chicken breats, cut them up into medium sized strips. dip the strips into the raw egg after mixing it in a bowl, after strips are covered roll them thouroughly in the breadcrumb/flavoring mixture, sautee in a pan with olive oil for 12-14 minutes, 6-7 on each side.

edit: I forgot to mention you can use this same recipe but bake it in the oven if you're trying to watch your weight, prolly cuts alot of the fat out of it. prolly 45 mins at 375 F.
