I've read that when you lower your caloric intake below your maintenance level, your body goes into a state of "hibernation" in which any additional calories over this lowered level that you intake will immediately be stored as fat. If this is true, how are you supposed to go from a period of cutting calories to gaining muscle without gaining a bunch of fat if you increase your caloric intake? Also, wouldn't everything additional eaten on cheat days be stored as fat? What are your opinions on this?
