I have always wondered about this question. Okay, say i was on steroids, (im not saying i was) What would happen to the Muscle the person gained if he did not keep taking steroids. The person still works out hard every day 5 times a week. Would the muscle he gained go away or would he just keep building on which he has gained. basically what would happen. :french: Thanks guys. It's quite hard (most people say impossible) to keep any muscle mass achieved from steroids that is greater than your genetic potential. So for example, if me in all my skinnyness went on a cycle and gained 20lbs of mostly muscle, I probably wouldn't have too hard of a time keeping it and possible gaining more naturally. But someone like BCC would have a FAR, FAR harder time maintaining the muscle he has achieved because of how far over he is from his genetic potential.

From what I understand, though not all of it could be maintained, a substantial quantity could.

Recent studies show this as a definite possibility.

I don't think he's that far past his genetic potential, if past it at all. With an impecable diet and hard training, he could probably achieve near where he is now in a few years naturally. And who's to say you are so far from your genetic potential? Skinny people aren't necessarily far below their genetic potential, and big people aren't necessarly far past their potential, as this potential is specific to the individual.

Canadian has the right idea, but is probably underestimating BCC's potential (which you really don't know). And could be over or under estimating his own potential.
Its possible to maintain a large portion of your gains on AAS. If everything is done properly.
Though most people don't do everything properly. In fact most people do the exact opposite of the correct thing. Most go from barely working out (or ZERO training), to hard core training + AAS, then hit a low when they're coming down, get discourage and stop lifting hard. So they blow up for a few months and shrink down.

now if some like say, Ronnie Coleman, decided to come off AAS... well let's just say he would have a hard time keeping his current physique
