I just got finished reading some articles in the supplement section on Whey vs Casien. I am still confused as to which I should be taking and at what times. I am currently taking 100% Optimum Nutrition Whey Gold Standard about 4 times a day. I am taking one gram per one pound. What I am wondering is, am I doing the right thing by taking whey, or should I be taking Casien? Also, what additional supplements would you recommend for me?

Age = 22
Weight = 250
Height = 6'2"

I have not been taking Creatine becuase I have read that is may affect kidney or liver function. Is this proven and if I were to order creatine what brand is the best?

I appreciate all replies...I am a noob and any advice I can get is a help.

Thanks,

Derek

Honestly, it doesn't really matter which source of protein you use. But when people want to get picky, they'll suggest whey after you workout and a blend at other times.

At this stage, you probably don't need any other supplements. Maybe a vitamin.

Creatine won't cause any kidney or liver problems unless you already have existing problems. If you choose to use it, you should go with a trusted brand like At Large Nutrition (plus they keep this site running).
