I am 19 and have been an avid lifter for years. I hear many people here saying you should not cycle before you are 21, but why? I know I produce more testosterone naturally, but will one cycle harm me at all? By no means do I want to make this a regular occurance, but I want to test it out once.

You won't stop at once.
Post up your diet and your training. If you haven't maxed that out yet, running a cycle will be a waste of your money and your liver.

How much weight have you gained since you started? Unless you have already mastered proper diet and are able to gain weight naturally regardless of composition you arent going to see any worthwhile gains from anabolics.

Id say NEVER, you dont need them. If we could all take pills and be super athletes then no one would work hard.

When I started lifting I was probably around 5 '11 - 6 feet and 150 pounds. I am now 6'2 and roughly 205 pounds. That's a big gain because I used to be so skinny. I feel my diet is very good. I eat 5-7 meals daily which consist of whey, oats, cottage cheese, chicken, green veggies, EFA's and what not. I take multi vitamin/minerals, vitamin c, glutamine, cycled creatine before, ZMA and other various supplements. My PWO protocol is correct, consisting of whey/water/dextrose/maltodextrin.
I'm pretty firm when I say I'll only do one cycle, atleast at this age. I just want to know if doing one cycle will show any PERMANENT side effects. Will my testosterone be stunted forever or just the weeks after the cycle, etc? Will my liver recover normally? I don't want to do anything that will screw me up the rest of my life. I can deal with a couple weeks of side effects, but not a lifetime.

If you expect double the results from steroids, you'll need to workout double as hard and eat double as much. It takes a hell lot more hard work and dedication to reep the results of steroids than to stick to it naturally.
I'd say guys like BCC, Hatred, and all the way up to Ronnie Coleman work a lot harder than me, you or almost any other natty.

That last post came off the wrong way. Im just as much a fan of hard work as any other guy and I truely belive 100% without a doubt that some of the strongest people of all time were natty.
Whos being the idot?? I never said that steriods were a magical substance that made you grow while you did nothing... I said that you dont need them and that as far as Im concerned they should be illegal. Even if they never are, Ill always take pride in knowing my gains were made with nothing but what the good lord gave me.
@the one, never said you didnt have to work hard with steroid usage... quote me if you can.
Bottom line is there should be no reason why anyone needs steriods, but I could care less if people do take them... its that natural high that your well natural that keeps me off them.
And working smart is better then working hard.

shouldn't this be in the anabolic threads?
and, besides...it sounds like the original poster really wants to do steroids and wants validation from the people on this board. if he doesn't get it here, he'll probably go to another site where someone, eventually, will tell him it's alright.
then, if anything happens, he'll blame it all on the idiots on the internet. if not, he'll proclaim himself a genius because he started before 21....

This is quite possibly the most ignorant statement I've ever read on this board.
The people touting the dedication needed when you run anabolics are merely advocating how much more work you need to put in in order to get the results that you want. I think people who get mad at those who try to open people's eyes to the dedication and work ethic it takes to get results need to shut up and jump off a bridge.

In all reality, steriods dont allow you to train your body to that next level (at least not from what I know of them). Training to your potential wont be any different with or without roids. Saying that people on this board who juice work harder then me because they juice is as ignorant as hock's post.

People who juice may or may not work harder than you do, but the reality is that they NEED to work harder than you in order to push their maximum potential. They need to push it to their own limits. Whether that is or is not harder than you is subjective.

The real question is why take steroids? Do you want to be a professional bodybuilder?

What kind of question is that. Why workout at all then.

Good response CiteCollegiale. I'm not really sure what you're getting at Vapour Trails, but it makes no sense and comes off as quite ignorant.

Oh yeah, and as for a minimum age: there isn't one as everyone is different (that's not to say 15 year olds should be juicing, but just because some guy turns 21 doesn't give him the green light to stick a needle in himself.). It's more of a maturity issue than anything. That and you must have a reasonable handle on diet and training, which doesn't come overnight.

Perhaps to develop strength, not everyones out there to have the necks end up around their foreheads.

There's nothing wrong with this, it is true. There are risks associated with taking steroids, is it worth takin those risks for nothing? That's a question which is up to the individual user.

That would imply that winning a show is the only reason worth bodybuilding for. I think lots of people would see having a more impressive physique than one otherwise would possess as more than "nothing".

I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible before making a decision. I guess what I want to know is if I do just ONE cycle, will I able to thereafter continue to make progress like I did before I was on my cycle? This won't permanently make me dependent on roids for gains? I'm very pleased with myself now but I just want to try 1 cycle for that extra push, and then do it naturally
bigpoppapump979

the unbiased answer is yes, you will be able to gain naturally after your cycle. sounds like you are pretty much set on it, so keep it short and do some more research before you start. the danger of wanting to stay on is always there though. you may gain graet on your cycle and decide you want to do another and another...which can turn responsible use into abuse. just be smart bro

If you do it correctly and hold on to your gains the answer is no. You will be closer to you potential and the closer you get the slower and harder gains will be had. I would certainly wait it out if I were you.
